“Wonderful stay in Cusco”

Loved this hotel. Staff was very kind, helpful and efficient. Room was clean. Shower had hot water. Staff worked hard to answer all questions, book a restaurant for us (we wanted to eat Cuy), call taxi's whenever needed and more. Breakfast was very filling and plentiful. In the beginning I became very sick, and staff recommended a physician who came to our room in the middle of the night. I'd stay here again if returning to Cusco.

“Good hotel by any standard”

We stayed here for four nights while trekking around Cusco Peru. I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is very pleasant, the breakfast was great (fried eggs, homemade bread and jam, natural yogurt, home made jam, fresh squeezed orange juise). My room was pleasant. The bathroom was large, plenty of hot water. The whole place was very clean. If I ever came back here I wouldn't even look for another place to stay. The staff was helpful with some travel problems we had. I am writing this in the breakfast area on the wireless internet that they provide.

“Going back there the next time in Cuzco!!”

Me and my husband had a wonderful stay there for the first two days! After returning from our trek, we stayed at the same place again. Love the decor of the place, the friedliness of the staff, the tea and the fruits that are available for guests through out the day.

“Very nice with a nice price!”

This trip was to visit my daughter who is studying at the University in Cusco for 5 months. It was my first experience traveling abroad, other than a cruise. If a tourist does not speak at least basic Spanish they will have a difficult time in Cusco. The sights, tours, shopping, food and value for your dollar was exceptional! The Hostal Pension was more than I expected and I was very pleased with my accomodations.

“Good value and good service”

Quaint beautiful gardens within this small hotel/chalet. Reception service was amazing - free bag storage, transferred our luggage between rooms while we were on our trek, made-to-order egg breakfast; free wireless internet; good value compared to other hotels. Neighborhood was nice in that it was not a busy street so not noisy at night (San Blas neighborhood roads don't fit large buses, and even some of the streets don't fit cars), but this also makes it a good 15 minute uphill walk from the main plaza. Only complaints: internet didn't work 2 of the 4 nights (they said this was unusual), one of the two rooms we stayed in was very old (I wore sandals in the shower to avoid touching), and the rooms could be fairly cold with only a space heater. Be aware also that although they accept USD bills, the bills cannot be worn, have any tears, or any markings (I've heard this is common in Peru to only accept US bills of this nature, but it was still inconvenient). Also there is no TV, but we didn't need this. Overall, due to the service and value, I would definitely stay here again.

“decent place for partial retreat”

The location and access is poor. The staff were generally inflexible. The laundry rates were quated at one rate but charge 4 times that amount.
