Great Marriott experience with a personal touch

Posted Dec 15, 2014
I can't say enough how professionally and warmly Marriott staff took care of us. I was quite sick when we checked in. They made sure a doctor sees me right away at the hotel. The doctor was very good - kudos to Marriott selection. Next morning I left my passport in the room and realized only after reaching the airport. The hotel staff (Mr Douglas if I remember correctly) personally came to the airport to deliver the passport. It would have been a disaster if housekeeping had somehow lost the passport or Mr Douglas had delayed coming to the airport. I would have missed two connecting international flights while also under the stress of fighting a serious infection. Kudos to Marriott culture and also to the caring spirit I found in the Peruvian people I met including hotel staff and taxi drivers who all worked as a seamless team absolutely focused to help and serve their guest in some particularly challenging situations I faced while staying at the hotel. It felt like a home and they all felt like my own people.

Pros: All of the above
Cons: On two occasions I called with a question and later I found out that I was provided inaccurate information; the latest I could order food from the bar

Perfect to see all places

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: We were just in the center of everything
Location: The hotel is just two blocks from central plaza, cathedral and many places to visit.
Since I entered the hotel, I loved it. Reception place and personel wonderful. We were helped to face high altitude and hotel people were nice at all times. Breakfast was superb. We were allowed to stay over time the day we left. A marvelous experience.

One night

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Nice public areas
Cons: Expensive hotel which charges extra for in-room internet, Basement rooms feel claustrophobic with the wall a couple of feet away from the window
Basic rooms are not so desirable In fact they tried to get us to upgrade when we checked in for an extra $100

Dear Bryan, Hereby we would like to extend our appreciation for choosing the JW Marriott El Convento Cusco, as a destination during your recent stay. We thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments with us though Expedia. Your comments are a valuable tool for us for feedback. This encourages us to continue in pursuit of excellence in the service we provide to our guests as important as you. We very much regret that you did not like your room with the restored Colonial wall in front but for those situations we offer upgrades in order to give a better option in case guests want it without pushing them or if the availability allows it we change rooms of the same category. On the other hand I am glad you liked our public areas. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know it will be a pleasure to assist you and I truly hope you can come back in the near future to bring you a delightful experience and completely enjoy the great aspects of the hotel.
