Very pleasant hotel on the Sacred Valley

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Tons of charm with comfort
Location: The Sacred Valley has tons of things to do and visit - the Salineras of Maras, Moray, Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu
We only spent one night/morning in this hotel, but we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was very well maintained, clean, really neat. The gardens just beautiful, filled with colorful flowers (including a huge "hortensias" garden). It is a wonderful place for a family stay, My seven year old daughter told me later on that this hotel was the highlight of her trip! (they have a couple of alpacas kids can actually feed)

Great choice for Machu Picchu & Sacred Valley

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Sonesta Posadas Del Inca - Yucay is a solid choice for folks who value service and location. Joanna runs the operation flawlessly. With little notice she booked and confirmed my transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to Ollantaytambo train station, return from station, and transfer to my next hotel in Cusco. She also placed a follow-up call to me in my room when I failed to provide a desired time of departure for my next hotel thus ensuring that my driver would be there on time the next morning. I've made the same mistake at five star hotels and they didn't care enough to call me, I just had to scramble for a taxi the next morning. I received a check-in call about an hour after I arrived to ensure all was right with the room and someone came by to deliver chocolates with a small note of thanks for my patronage a couple of hours after I checked in. Room service was excellent and maid service too. Complimentary coca tea is served in the lobby and it hits the spot. There's a happy hour from 5-7 and the hotel bar serves a variety of cocktails. There is live music in the lobby too but I don't remember the schedule. Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. They always smile and speak to you when passing and provide as much or as little help as you would like. Front desk provided me with over a hundred soles worth of 5 soles coins and 1 sole coins. I really needed them for tips and small purchases. They do need new shower heads but that was a very minor thing.

Ask to stay on river side

Posted Apr 7, 2015 on Hotels
Very helpful staff. Our side of the hotel was by railroad tracks, so train passes several times. Could hear it but not that noisy. Ask to stay on back facing the river.

Dear Guest; Thank you very much for your comment but I am afraid to tell you that I think you confuse our Hotel with another one, because we are really far from the railroad tracks, the closest is 15 minutes away from her, the other one is 40 minutes away. Have a good day.

Best place to stay in Sacred Valley

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: The hotel itself.
Location: Visit all the archaeological places like Machu Picchu, Moray, Maras, Cusco.
This hotel is a renewed monastery in the center of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The proximity to Cusco and all the others attractions like Machu Picchu is perfect. The staff is the kindest that I have met before, all of them want to help and always with a smile in their faces. The peruvian food was great, the chef knows a lot of dishes, and the were delicious.

Beautiful old hotel, very well maintained.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: The grounds
Cons: Lunch choices were limited. But, most of the time we were out touring during the day. In a pinch, there is a very nice lunch restaurant close by.
Location: Several Inca ruins nearby, beautiful Sacred Valley views and we discovered, in Ollantitamba (sp?), a fantastic brewery called Sacred Valley Cerveceria
The original building was built several hundred years ago as a monastery. It was converted to a hotel several years ago and Sonesta has added several more building for rooms, but, has preserved the look of the old monastery. The grounds are gorgeous with flowers and trees in abundance. The restaurant was good with hearty meals and friendly service. It was a very pleasant place to come back to after a day of touring and just sit back and relax.

schönes Hotel im Tal

Posted Jan 11, 2015

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: The gardens, the location, the arquitecture.
Cons: We got 2 rooms, one was fine the other needed some maintenance.
Location: Is an excellent resting place between cities. No much to do near but you do not need to go looking for thinks to do
We stayed in Valle Sagrado wich is half way between Cusco and Machu Picchu. Tha hotel staff was helpful, breakfast was good and the food "a la carta" was ok. We did not have the buffette.

Lovely hotel in a quiet, beautiful setting with grand mountains in the background and lovely landscaping. They also have alpacas living on the grounds. Would recommend to my friends.
