The staff is very friendly and helpful. They made sure we were pleased with the room. They went out of the way to make sure we had the information we needed for our departure the next day.

Charged Twice

Posted May 10, 2014
Pros: Nothing special.
Cons: New personel.
Location: It's Dalhart Texas. Train tracks and cattle.
Room was OK. I booked through Expedia with my normal payment method. When I checked in, the desk clerk said I had only "reserved" the room and would have to pay at that time. I did with another credit card and both charges went through. I had to work with the credit card company to get a refund on one of the charges. If I hadn't been suspicious of the situation I would have paid twice. Be very careful with this motel.

This hotel is run by a very nice couple. The decor is lovely. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. You park your car right in front of your room.

Clean and Comfortable

Posted Jan 10, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfy.
Cons: One of the locks on the door to our room wasn't working, which might have made me nervous if I had been traveling alone.
Location: We drove a couple of miles past the hotel, still on the highway, to The Grill for excellent burgers. It's tiny, so the drive through coudl be handy.
Rodeay Inn in Dalhart is right on the main highway through town, so it was a good place to stop overnight. The hotel in really a 1-story motel, but we were pleased with it. The room was a basic motel room, but comfortable and very clean, and the furnishings seemed quite new. The woman at the front desk was nice. The steak house next door gives a discount to people staying there.

Clean and quiet

Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: good price for a clean, spacious room
Nothing fancy, but the room was clean and spacious. I needed a sewing kit, which they did not have, but the staff offered to sew on a button for me.

Pros: Clean, comfortable
Location: Convenient
Most of the other hotels in Dalhart don't allow pets, so that was a plus for this one. This was our second time staying here, it's clean and comfortable. Good Texas waffles for breakfast and Ray was very friendly.

inexpensive, basic motel

Posted Aug 1, 2012
Pros: comfortable bed
Cons: electronics
Location: convenient for the TX-CO summer commuters
I couldn't get cold water out of the tap - only hot, no matter which way I turned it. Went to get ice as an alternative, and the ice machine was out of order. They did have a bag of ice in a cooler available. Could not charge my laptop or iPad as the chargers kept falling out of the outlet. Did not use the shower/tub, so no comment. Not sure if the hairdryer worked, but did use that outlet to charge my phone. When I tried to use it for my laptop, it would charge for a few seconds, then stop. Don't know what that means. The free wi-fi was very spotty - sometimes worked, sometimes didn't, The receptionist was very friendly and helpful when I arrived.

Good Value ... reasonable accomodation.

Posted Jul 29, 2012
Pros: Quiet, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Too much deodorizer.
Location: Good location next to a nice restaurant and center of town.
The room was quiet, clean and comfortable with one exception. The smell of deoderizer was pretty strong. Other than that it was well maintained and the breakfast while not elaborate was reasonable. The staff was friendly and well prepared. The waffle in the shape of Texas was a nice touch. For the price I felt it was reasonable. The hotel in general was well maintained.
