“Very nice hotel.”
Hotel is fine.
“"Hope to Return"”
The friendliness and professionalism of all the staff was extremely wonderful.
“Poor value and lack of technology”
I took my wife out for the night of her 60th birthday so I expected a fie hotel to be something special. It wasn't! You get better seating and televisions in a low cat motel. We wanted to see the Cowboys play on TV before going out to dinner but while the TV was HD the hotel couldn't provide HD signal. We called in maintenance who sad there was nothing to be done as the fuzzy picture was as good as it gets. Later we discovered that the hotel has not add the investment to bring HD service into the hotel. The room looked nice but the Ed was lumpy, carpet had some lumps and the lighting in the bathroom was terrible. It was a pretty room though and had good hot water. No complementary anything though and we were in a suite. Parking is valet only at $24 per day plus tip. The famous French Room was closed so we had to find another restaurant. We were so upset at the poor ale that we decided to eat breakfast elsewhere.
“Absolutely fantastic!”
Excellent downtown location. Great hotel with old world charm, clean and spacious rooms, wireless internet, snack and mini bar, very attentive staff and fantastic food. Will definitely come back when in the Dallas area.
“Love this hotel, but...”
This hotel has a lot going for it: history, beautiful lobby, very friendly and helpful staff, great F&B operations, high tea in the afternoon, excellent location convenient to good restaurants and pubs as well as other attractions (West End, AA Center, Neiman Marcus, etc.), but the rooms themselves, and in particular, the housekeeping operation needs a little attention. When I arrived in my room, the clock was not set, there were only three hangers in the closet, no robe, upholstery on one chair was ripped, and there was no coffee for the coffee maker. The bathroom, though large, could stand a little updating. That being said, when I called down to the front desk to report the condition of the room, April was very apologetic and offered me a $25 F&B credit. The standard King room is also quite large and the furnishings are not typical for a hotel. Also the free broadband connection is very fast. Overall, I enjoy staying here, and if could get the Expedia rate every time I'm in DFW, I'd probably stay here exclusively.
“Cant wait to go back!!!”
Very nice hotel room, much nicer and larger than I expected. The staff was friendly and helpful.
“A Classic”
This was my third annual stay at the Adolphus while visiting family in nearby Arlington. I love the classic, historical feel of the hotel and always look forward to my stay. So, I was very disappointed when I checked in to my favorite executive suite room and found that they had "updated" the linens. The beautiful A's that adorned the shams and pillows and coordinating bed covers are gone. So is the comfy chair. So are the beautiful elegant cushions on the sofa. It has a generic look to the room, I could have been at any Hyatt, Marriott, etc chain. Why would they want to get rid of their signature items for a more common look? I told the front desk clerk who informed me that they had spent alot of money on the refurbishing. I can understand if they looked worn, but they were beautiful and stately. Also, the surrounding area has gotten much worse regarding the homeless. We walked to the next door 7-11 for some snacks late at night and were confronted by a few very aggressive men. Good thing we walk fast. The following night we took a walk to the flagship Neiman Marcus to see their fabulous Christmas window display. Again, a very aggressive man followed us and kept insisting to shine my husbands shoe. I couldnt enjoy the windows because of having to watch my back. I hate to say that this will be my last stay at the Adolphus.
“loved it”
very beautiful and elegant
“Going back for sure”
This was a beautiful hotel with so much character. Everything was perfect. The next time we stay in Dallas we will definitely stay there. I was very surprised by the very reasonable breakfast prices in the Bistro.
“Great Holiday deal on room”
Everything was great. Eat down the street if you are on a budget.
