Great staff. Great Hotel. Pet friendly.

We loved this hotel. We stayed in a bungalow room for two nights. Our room was great sized, enough for us, our dog, and our baby. Highly recommend you call after booking through expedia if you have a pet to ensure you get a pet friendly room. We did not originally but the staff was very helpful and got us one. They have a free shuttle service to downtown. You also get free access to a great workout facility, not just a tiny hotel room with two pieces of equipment. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great Boutique Hotel

I love the Belmont. It has great views of downtown from the pool and the bar. The grounds are immaculate and endlessly fascinating to a 6 year old. The on premise restaurant Smoke is not to be beat, especially for breakfast or brunch.

Quirky at a decent price

Posted May 17, 2014
Pros: Love the concept of restoring an older hotel! Has a great look to it. Think just needs some tweaking still. Smoke is great...high for breakfast tho
Cons: Quick and inexpensive breakfast. Smoke is great, but high for breakfast on the run and the schedule doesn't fit everyone's departure.
Location: It's close to downtown and very near freeway...within a couple of miles you are near many attractions, but not much real close food wise but Smoke.
Parking was the biggest issue. Valet parking is an additional $15 (?) per night, and the lot parking is not convenient at all...wouldn't recommend to those with physical problems. From the street, it's not clear at all that it IS the parking for the hotel since it's to the side of the restaurant. Had to ask. A sign visible from the street would be great. Felt like a refugee climbing a dirt embankment with my bag, trying to figure out how you get in through the back. Rained overnight, so the trek back was muddy and slippery, hence my dive into the dirt. Not angry, but just a couple suggestions for owner..think place could be super with a few changes. Valet seems to be just standing...how about offering great customer service by letting guests call from lot for a pick-up from parking lot to the lobby, then a ride with their luggage to their room, offer to get ice for the room- without guests paying an additional fee. After a long day of driving, it'd be great not to have to trek around with heavy bags. Also, it looks like the skyline view would be great from the pool...perhaps be a good idea to ask incoming guests if they would like the code to enter instead of another trek down and up the hill. Little disappointed that it promoted great views but that is apparently for certain rooms. The queen bed is more like a full and I'm small - 5'2" and 110 lbs! Wouldn't have wanted to share. Coffee maker available by calling - there are no hair dryers. Not usually grumpy about my stays

Very unique property with staff that gets how cool it is without trying to be too cool for school. Also eat every meal you can at Smoke next door.

Great Hotel Great Staff

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: I recommend the ambiance and the hotel staff. I was very pleased.
Pulling into the hotel and parking in the dirt lot behind Smoke seemed a bit sketchy at first, but once I walked through the gate on to the hotel grounds, I knew it would be ok. I was on a business trip and the Belmont was a refreshing oasis I could return to after a stressful and long work day. The staff was helpful and friendly and the hotel bar was a great place to unwind. The food at Smoke was delicious, although a little fancy for my taste in barbeque. If you like to drink coffee when you wake up, remember to request a coffee maker for the room.

Great place - not the greatest area.

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: Staff was great and rooms were very clean.
Cons: Unfortunately they can't change their location. There is a jail facility down the road.
Location: There isn't anything within walking distance, especially after business hours. The closest place to get coffee is an unappealing gas station minimart
The hotel staff is fantastic. The room itself is on the small side but very clean. The free parking, though, is down the street at the neighboring restaurant "Smokes" and the immediate area may be perfectly safe, but was a little unnerving.
