Nice weekend stay

Posted May 25, 2015
Very nice stay in a clean comfortable room. Had my room to include breakfast. Nice selections and cook well. The only thing I wish it had was a small microwave for leftovers from some of the fine restaurants in the area.

Although breakfast was not included, there was a first rate small cafe with a very good menu that was not too steep in price. Overall, a very nice stay.

Great Central Metro location

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Lower prices on weekdays.
Location: Nearby restaurants: Waffle House, Chili's, Wendy's, Bonedaddy's, Sonic. Nearby places: Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, Cowboys Stadium
This hotel is perfectly placed for easy access to everything the DFW Metroplex has to offer. Highway 75 and I-635 are both nearby. There are also several other major thoroughfares nearby if you like to avoid traffic. This hotel is not usually amongst the cheapest available, but can usually be found for $75-$120.00. Several times I have booked another hotel only to regret it and come back to this one on my next trip. One time, I even left a non-refundable hotel minutes after check in because of filth and mold to come back to the Courtyard at Spring Valley. This hotel caters to business people, and I truly feel welcomed each time I stay. It's like staying at the Gaylord for half the price, and not having to pay for parking.

Every area was closed for remodel..disappointing

Posted Apr 20, 2015
The cafe was closed. The gym was closed. The breakfast area was closed (they did have a VERY small room for this but most people had to take their food to go). The doors near the elevator weren't working because they were repaving the sidewalk. Would have been good to know this before walking through wet cement in the dark. Dust everywhere!

Slightly better than expected.

Cons: The electrical closet next to room 149 needs sound insulation or some other improvement to reduce the noise.
The hotel was being remodeled (April, 2015), but aside from breakfast being in a conference room instead of their normal eating area, the impact was minimal. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. I stay at similar hotels frequently, including other Courtyard hotels, and found the folks at this location generally a half step above what I'm used to in terms of friendliness and helpfulness, especially the housekeepers. I think this is significant, because my experiences with Courtyard staff have always been positive, so they raised the bar above an already good history. I give it a 4 rating overall for two relatively minor issues. First, the bathroom wasn't quite clean (ok, the housekeepers weren't perfect), although a couple quick wipes of the sink and tub fixed that faster than calling the front desk. Second, because the first room I was given was next to an electrical closet and buzzing equipment inside was very plainly audible though the walls. I'm sure I could have slept through it, but it was still obnoxious, and I know from experience that I handle continuous noise better than most people. The staff moved me to another room without objection.

Cons: HSIA - wouldn't work either night I was there
Very nice hotel. Recent renovation. Room layout is unique and maximizes the space in the room. Large bathroom. Only negative was the Wi-Fi didn't work either night I was there. Made it hard to work from my room.

Nice updated renovations, Close to Galleria Mall!

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Everything except no microwave available in the room!
Cons: Need microwaves available!!!
Location: Convenient to an assortment of restaurants and very close to the galleria mall
Family and I were in town for the weekend to ice skate at the galleria mall. Hotel was very convenient to local attractions as well as restaurants. Pappadeaux's restaurant was the best!! The hotel was very comfortable. The only complaint I had was the description details the option to request a microwave and fridge in the room, but that wasn't true at all. Upon arrival I was told there was no microwave available, corporate had made a decision to completely take away all the microwaves in the hotel! So my only suggestion would be to take it out of the description if not available at all, huge disappointment. Overall, very nice hotel, awesome customer service, and beautiful renovations!

Thank you for the nice comments. Our new refrigerators didn't arrive in time to coincide with the completion of our rooms renovation, but are on the way and should be installed soon. We do have a limited number of microwave ovens that we can deliver to rooms upon request, and we may have been out of them during your visit. I hope you'll have a chance to visit again soon!

Pros: clean sheets, clean bathroom, clean pillows, and the hotel itself smelled clean. The hallways were cleans and had no smoking smell
Cons: check in time.
Me and a friend came from out town, and we wanted to select a hotel closer to our activities. I had no clue that this hotel would be this nice and clean. I definitely will select this room again. It was cleaned, looked new, bathroom was neat, sheets looked new and hotel staff were nice as can be.

Nice hotel in process of being renovated.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: We were assigned to one of the newly renovated room, and it seemed brand new. Very nice and comfortable.
Cons: Wall sound insulation in connecting rooms did not seem very good, as we could hear all the talking and baby crying next door.
Location: Very convenient location to lots of restaurants and industry, yet felt secluded from the nearby popular interchange of I-635 and I-75
Check in was seamless. First room had a screaming baby that didn't sound like it was going to stop anytime soon, so management very quickly moved us to another room. They were very nice and accommodating about this move.
