Nice but accessibility not easy; AC inadequate
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: The location is good tho access is complicated. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Air conditioning needs to be adequate for Dallas summer heat.
Location: We enjoyed Northpark Center and the Sixth Floor Museum Kennedy Memorial. We were fairly close to SMU and the new George W. Bush Center.
I always love a stay at Embassy Suites. This location was clean enough with some friendly staff members. We enjoyed sitting on the second floor terrace overlooking the atrium. I was disappointed overall, tho, compared to my other Embassy experiences. It was warm in public areas and our room did not get comfortably cool until around midnight. The temp outside got up to 99 degrees so I suppose that was why. Also, access to the hotel is complicated because of its location near major highway interchanges.

THE NIGHT FROM H$!!
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Location and Breakfast
Cons: FILTHY
Location: Convenient
Our first night the air conditioning was broken. A technician first told us that we could not turn the thermostat down in order for the room to get cool???? After about 15 minutes in our room he said that it was fixed. IT WAS NOT FIXED!!!! No one ever answered the phone at the front desk. The room was miserably hot. I spoke with a manager the next morning who sent another technician into our room and come to find out the first tech had actually turned the switch to the air conditioner off!!! WOW...... I meet with a manager at the front desk who tells me that I would be compensated by something special being put into my room?? Which we never received. I finally was able to meet with a manger face to face who was very helpful and not sarcastic. The other two managers that I spoke to on the telephone refer to themselves as the brown manager and the black manager???? REALLY!!!!!Thank Goodness that the second technician knew what he was doing, he did fix the air conditioning and he was very pleasant. Long Story SHORT after three managers and two technicians the problem was solved and we were given one night free. However the room was never cleaned,The bathroom shower was filthy, the sheets were disgusting and the bedspread was torn in several different places. I have stayed at this Hotel on numerous occasions due to the perfect location and great breakfast, and have always been very happy...BUT NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

GREAT FAMILY GET AWAY
Posted Jan 27, 2013
Pros: The Manager's Reception is a huge win.
Cons: Pool was too full of clorine. Eyes were burning.
Location: Great location
The Managers Reception was the best way to unwind from a long day of travel. What a way to set yourself apart from the competition. Breakfast was also a plus. I'm a Travel Agent and I've stayed at several brands and you guys are by far rising to the Top of my list. Will definitely refer your Hotel to clients.

lots and lots of loud children
Posted Jan 23, 2013
Pros: the suite style room...
Cons: the extremely large number of screaming children
Location: easy in/out with quick access to the West End and north Dallas
If you have and/or want to be surrounded by big loud families with lots of screaming kids, this is the hotel for you. Because of the noise level, we did not get to enjoy the pool, the complimentary breakfast, or the complimentary happy hour. The noise was mostly contained to the common areas of the hotel and did not keep us from sleeping. We were almost late to the wedding we were to attend because we were stuck waiting for the elevators to hit every floor as kids treated them like rides. I hear they shock the pool every week. Good thing 'cause it was a bit worse for wear by Sunday evening. Having said that, everything else about the place was just fine. Easy in/out, ample parking, great staff, good prices.

Old Hotel
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: The only good thing was that they had a shuttle that we could take to the Galleria and back.
Cons: They need to totally renovate this hotel.
Location: The location would have been great except for all of the road construction in that area.
This hotel is old and you can see and smell it. When we opened the door to our room it smelled old and musty. The bed was horrible. It dipped in the middle and it was not comfortable at all. The bathroom was small and it was old. The ceiling was stained and the air vent looked old and horrible. The couch had a big cut in it and you could see the stuffing sticking out. I would not recommend this hotel at all. It was a total waist of money.

Great stay! Great value!
Posted Jan 1, 2013
Location: Near a freeway a little confusing for out of towners.
Great stay and value for the price of the room. The rooms were spacious and clean and the king size bed was really comfortable. My husband and two boys had more then enough room to where we didn't feel compact as most hotels rooms do. I loved that the hotel offers managers hour where it open bar and free snacks in the lobby area for about 2 hours very afternoon. We did get room service and the food was pretty good and reasonably priced. The breakfast was by far the best free complementary breakfast we've ever had at any hotel. I would suggest waking up early though to beat the long lines at the omlet bar. The staff was friendly as can be. My kids loved the indoor pool. Overall good hotel and we would stay there again if we ever visit Dallas again. Cons The hotel could use more staff at the front desk. Restrooms were small Had to pay for Internet

where's the staff?
Posted Jan 25, 2013
Pros: room size
Cons: needs more staff to take care of happy hour and breakfast
Location: location is handy for shopping.
The hotel is old but has been remodeled so that was nice. Our main dissappointment was the under staffing of the hotel. This hotel chain is known for its happy hour and breakfast. Both we dissappointing because the hotel was very busy and there wasn't enough staff to keep up. Waiting in line for 15 minutes every time you want a drink makes a happy hour very unhappy. Breakfast was cold and tables were dirty so you had to bus and clean your own. The hotel was fine but the staffing was not adequate.

We ALWAYS stay at this Embassy Suites. It's afforable, located conveniently, and offers a great morning breakfast. However, this stay was a little lackluster. Upon arriving, I realized there was not a floor length mirror. We've stayed at this Embassy Suites no less than 10 times in the last few years and I have grown accustomed to this. Next, our hair dryer was broken. I called downstairs, but got no answer. When we arrived back after being out that evening, I spoke with the front desk who said they would send one immediately. It was about 11 p.m. At about midnight, someone knocked on the door with the replacement. The shower also did not drain very quickly. My husband and I could not take showers back to back because we had to wait for the shower to drain each time. The bath tub also had mold which I've never noticed before. Finally, the underground parking was a nightmare. My husband and I parked extremely far from the elevators. That's understandable, we came in late. However, when we went to check out and were trying to back out of our spot, we almost hit another parked car. I had to get out of the car and guide my husband as he went forward an inch, back an inch, forward an inch, back an inch, etc for about 5 minutes. Overall, this was not the best stay we have had. We will try again because we have had a great experience here in the past.

Spring Break 2013
Posted Jan 20, 2013
Pros: Included breakfast, nightly manager's reception
Cons: Loud atrium
Location: A little sketchy, right off major freeway interchange, but made coming and going easy once the freeway became familiar.
The parking garage is underground and a little scary - be weary of break-ins and park near the elevators if possible and don’t leave anything at all in your vehicle. Staff and service were great. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The daily breakfast buffet is nice and the customized omelet is quite good. I would suggest arriving for breakfast early to avoid the crowds. Location is near a major highway interchange so leaving the hotel can get a little confusing, use GPS and maps. Also, the nightly free wine, beer, and cocktail reception is nice and not usually too crowded. Nuts and light snacks are also provided. As the hotel lists, wireless internet is a surcharge - do a little research ahead of time for your phone and you can download an app and avoid the fees by using your own mobile carrier. The business room is free and you can surf the net and print tickets, etc as needed. The rooms open into a vast courtyard; don’t stay if you have a light sleeper that needs to sleep in the "living" part of the suite. The hotel is great for families, but definitely not a couples retreat. There was a large church group every night we were there. Everyone was well behaved, but the noise level was usually a little elevated. The room came with a micro and mini fridge, but no in room safe. I was disappointed that there was no safe specifically since I had called ahead and asked about in-room safes and was told there was one.
