“Good Hotel, Noisy Area”
We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the LBJ/Central DART train station and because it is 100% smoke-free. Overall, our stay in the basic king-sized room was a very positive experience. The room and bathroom were very clean. The comfort of the mattress was above-standard, especially for a mid-quality hotel like Holiday Inn Express, and the linens were very soft and comfortable. We had extras in the room that we were not expecting, including a full-sized couch, hardwood coffee table, and bar area with sink.
The complimentary breakfast was excellent as far as hotel breakfasts are concerned. They provided a large assortment of hot items ranging from eggs to sausage/bacon to biscuits, depending on the day, as well as yogurt, pastries, granola bars, and many other items. The hotel dining area was large, clean, and well-maintained.
The location is both a positive and a negative. It is very close to I-635 as well as a row of restaurants, which makes the area very noisy due to all the traffic, and it is not the safest area we have ever stayed in (signs were posted all around the hotel stating that management was not responsible for damage to vehicles parked around the building).
