Great location and wonderful service!

We wanted to visit the Dealy Plaza Area , the Red Museum and the Perot Science Museum. This hotel is in the perfect location , near to all three. It is in a delightful historic building built in 1925. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated . They are remodeled in a modern style. The hotel staff was fantastic and helpful. The free breakfast is very good, and the front desk clerk brings out warm chocolate chip cookies around 5 pm ! The building is old but our stay couldn't have been better.

Pros: Location to downtown
Cons: Renovation
Run down, and not that great of a bargain. Last resort kind of place.

Conference

Pros: Convenient location to convention center and dart train station
Cons: Carpet and furniture was old and needs updating
Location: 6th story museum was very close
Hotel was close to convention center so it was within walking distance. I didn't have to rent a car. The Dart station was across the street so that was convenient. The hotel was very old but I thought it had charm and character.

Hotel Lawrence

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: How nice the people were.
Cons: The condition of the lobby, elevator, and the hallways.
Location: This hotel was close to union station and within walking distance to the convention center.
The people who work here are incredibly nice and the room was clean and organized. It was great that they had free wifi and free breakfast. That being said, the lobby, the elevators, and hallways were really rundown. The hotel seemed to only have hot water- the sink water was never cold and the cold water was turned off in the breakfast area.

You get what you pay for, but a great location!

Pros: Hotel Lawrence is just a few blocks from the Dallas Convention Center, the Omni Hotel and other big hotels, and the historic West End district.
Cons: The building and furnishings are old--well-maintained, but old. If it were improved it would be more expensive.
Location: Near the Dallas Convention Center, the Historic West End district, all the JFK museums and sites.
The Hotel Lawrence is ideally situated within easy walking distance of the Convention Center, the Historic West End district, and other major hotels. It is an old hotel (1925 as I recall), and while it is old and fraying around the edges, the rooms were adequate, kept clean, very friendly and helpful staff, and a free breakfast. The best part is that the Hotel Lawrence is about half the cost of new big hotels in the area! Don't let the outward appearance fool you, this hotel is a great bargain!

This hotel needs an update.

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Everything
Location: Nothing
I have stayed here before and did not have this bad of an experience. I checked in and my first room did not have a working heater/AC or a door lock. My second room was on a floor that was under construction. The next morning, I found the shower knob was broken and I could only get cold water. The third morning-no hot water again. Carpet was old and stained.
