ConferencePosted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: Convenient location to convention center and dart train station
Cons: Carpet and furniture was old and needs updating
Location: 6th story museum was very close
Hotel was close to convention center so it was within walking distance. I didn't have to rent a car. The Dart station was across the street so that was convenient. The hotel was very old but I thought it had charm and character.

Hotel LawrencePosted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: How nice the people were.
Cons: The condition of the lobby, elevator, and the hallways.
Location: This hotel was close to union station and within walking distance to the convention center.
The people who work here are incredibly nice and the room was clean and organized. It was great that they had free wifi and free breakfast. That being said, the lobby, the elevators, and hallways were really rundown. The hotel seemed to only have hot water- the sink water was never cold and the cold water was turned off in the breakfast area.

You get what you pay for, but a great location!Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: Hotel Lawrence is just a few blocks from the Dallas Convention Center, the Omni Hotel and other big hotels, and the historic West End district.
Cons: The building and furnishings are old--well-maintained, but old. If it were improved it would be more expensive.
Location: Near the Dallas Convention Center, the Historic West End district, all the JFK museums and sites.
The Hotel Lawrence is ideally situated within easy walking distance of the Convention Center, the Historic West End district, and other major hotels. It is an old hotel (1925 as I recall), and while it is old and fraying around the edges, the rooms were adequate, kept clean, very friendly and helpful staff, and a free breakfast. The best part is that the Hotel Lawrence is about half the cost of new big hotels in the area! Don't let the outward appearance fool you, this hotel is a great bargain!

This hotel needs an update.Posted Nov 8, 2014
I have stayed here before and did not have this bad of an experience. I checked in and my first room did not have a working heater/AC or a door lock. My second room was on a floor that was under construction. The next morning, I found the shower knob was broken and I could only get cold water. The third morning-no hot water again. Carpet was old and stained.

It may look old and quaint but it's just old.Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: The position was ok.
Cons: Everything is run down and in desperate need of attention. The shower didn't even have a shower head! Just a spray of lukewarm water.
Location: Close to dealey plaza, Dallas world aquarium and the sixth floor museum
The hotel as a whole needs some attention. There were two lamps in the room neither worked. I tried to contact the front desk but the phone didn't work. The shower didn't have a shower head and all you got was a lukewarm spray of water. The tiling work around the fixtures in the bathroom look as though a first time tiler completed it. The room was stuffy with an old air conditioner that the controls had been smashed to pieces on so it couldn't be adjusted. It was old and loud right next to the bed. At the complimentary breakfast one morning the toaster was full with someone's cook bagel. Three people were waiting to use the toaster but didn't want to touch someone else's food. After a good 5 minutes a staff member came and took the bagels out, they were hers! I have never seen this before. The hotel has potential to be a beautiful old style hotel but whoever is running it needs to spend some money to revitalise it. If I hadn't already paid upfront I would have gone elsewhere.
