“Middle of no where”
Not in a very nice neighborhood. Would need a rental car as you are a good 30 min drive to either Dallas or Fort Worth. 10 minute drive to the attractions in Arlington. Good price, and staff was helpful. Gave us a brand new air conditioner when we complained our first night. Bed was not very comfortable and we could hear our neighbors even when they whispered.
“Reasonably clean, hard beds”
Service, cleanliness, and noise levels were all great. Just had trouble sleeping on the less than cushy mattress and pillows.
“Good if going to CowboysStadium”
We made last minute reservations for the Super Bowl and there were slim pickings. After staying in the world's worst Howard Johnson hotel in NY, I went against my better judgement in booking a room here. Since we were just there for the game and somewhere to sleep, it was fine. I would never recommend this hotel for an actual vacation or for someone who wants/needs to spend time in the room. The shower was surprisingly great, but everything else...not so much. It looks updated on the outside, but is not updated at all on the inside. The staff is also really nice and really helpful which is a plus. But it's a Howard Johnson and you get what you pay for!
“It is a good hotel.”
It is a good hotel for this price.
“Not Impressed”
It is located in a VERY Bad part of town!!! I was scared! And the Breakfast was white or wheat bread (not even toast!) no milk for the one kind of cereal that they has and some orange juice. I will never go back to this over priced place again!
“Somewhat ghetto hotel in a somewhat ghetto town.”
This hotel was dirty and rundown. I don't think my bathroom had been cleaned. However, the staff were very nice. The complimentary breakfast was some mini danishes and four or five (total) bagels. Not worth it. Would've been worth it at half the price, but not otherwise.
“Not recommended”
The breakfast was small pastries, bread and cereal. The coffee was weak. The carpet was so filthy my feet turned black and the maid service did not vacuum the entire week. The bathroom needed upgrades as did the wash area. All of the basins and the tub were worn past their ability to make it aesthetically pleasant. Every night around 2 am there was the sound of large vehicles backing up, beep beep beep.
“Great staff, hotel needs updating.”
The staff were awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel definitely needs some TLC. The sink would take forever to drain and the tub dripped the whole time. Bathroom was in poor shape.
“Close to Nokia Theatre but not impressed”
Upon arrival at this motel, I was greeted in the lobby by a roach running across the floor. Although the clerk was friendly, I could understand only about every 3rd word due to the heavy Indian/Pakistan accent. In the morning we went down for breakfast and again were joined by several roaches running along the furniture. Our room was OK but good have stood a good intense cleaning. Close enough to the Nokia Theatre so I fear if we travel to Grand Prairie again we will have to stay again as nothing else very close that looks any better.
“Decaying and neglected”
There is broken furnature stacked outside. The room hadn't been cleaned when we arrived at 14:00. There were clean rooms but we weren't given one of them. The room was not cleaned another day. The Internet in every room wasn't. It was wireless and unstable. The tub was warped and held a pool of dirty water. The TV remote barely worked. The neighborhood is very rough. The continental breakfast is unusually minimal. Basically, it is aging, in poor repair, and declining. Howard Johnson needs to drop it.
