Great downtown locationPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location, nearby restaurants/transportation, comfort of the hotel room and public areas, atmosphere of the hotel.
Cons: Find a way to add a pool, somehow! That was all I was missing (my fault for not checking the hotel website before).
Location: Downtown, paid parking only! Great restaurants nearby: Iron Cactus (Mexican) and Sushi Ya (amazing sushi)! Nice simple park behind the hotel building.
A great hotel, good value, updated with some original features that create a unique feel of history and character! The room was comfortable, air temperature was easy to adjust, and I appreciated the spacious bathroom/shower. Breakfast was ample and provided a great start to the day, and the hotel fitness center had a very reasonable variety of machines/equipment. Hotel staff was very pleasant and responsive. We missed the evening milk and cookies by 3 minutes, but a staff member slipped us a few cookies anyway! Happy hour was a nice touch, and provided a great way to wind down from a busy day before dinner. Was close to a DART station - only walked a couple of blocks for easy city-wide transportation access. A pool was the only other thing I would have wanted! It wasn't very easy to communicate with the porters, but they were eager to provide comprehensive service, nonetheless.

Old, out of date hotelPosted Jul 7, 2014
Hotel is very out of date, old dingy carpet, elevators feel like they were out of a horror ride. No pool... Cheap drinks consist of house wine and bud light as happy hrs cocktails. What a waste of a getaway

StaycationPosted Jul 7, 2014
I needed a little staycation and the Magnolia provided it for us. All of the little details from the welcome drinks and cookies and milk before bedtime all made for a wonderful stay.

great location with my downtown activities closebyPosted Jul 7, 2014
Cons: better wi-fi reception needed
Location: we went to a great steak place, a museum, and lots of shopping
a fun get-a-way, with wonderful breakfast, and my kind of happy hour: cookies and milk from 8-10, and comp drinks daily. we were close to all downtown attractions. the view was wonderful. on july 4th we watched fireworks from over 25 communities.

Great place, great pricePosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Staff, room size, price and central location.
Cons: Food wasn't very good and seemed expensive for what you got..the breakfast was adequate and offered the usual variety you would expect.
Location: Located centrally in Dallas half a block from Neimans. We were going to a show at the Majestic theatre which was a short five minute walk.
We stay fairly frequently at hotels in Dallas, but this was the first time we had stayed at the Magnolia. We were really impressed with the hotel and the very spacious room that we had. Living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, nicely furnished and very clean. Staff were helpful and courteous and all in all we had a pleasant stay.

Excellent value!Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Complimentary breakfast, cocktail hour, milk/cookies & wifi. Historical architecture & atmosphere. Location.
Cons: They might allow guests to use the off-street circle to the East of the building as a loading/unloading area.
Location: We were in Dallas for a family function. The only thing of interest to us was the JFK memorial & museum.
We booked 3 rooms at a great price. The hotel was very nice, clean, friendly and offered the 2 things I always look for.....free breakfast & free wifi. Two of our 3 rooms were almost like suites, the third was perfectly adequate, but paled compared to the others. The complimentary breakfast, cocktail hour & bedtime milk/cookies made it so easy for us to meet & hang-out in a common area with no pressure to buy something.

Okay but not greatPosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and food was good.
Cons: Dark room, slow elevators, lack of seating for brunch and time it takes for valet to retrieve the car.
Location: Location is good with shops and restaurants nearby.
Very dark room, felt like we were in a cave. Very friendly and helpful staff from valet to registration to the bar service. Brunch was very crowded with not enough tables to find seating. It does take about 15 minutes for valet to obtain the car due to the cars being parked blocks away. The food was quite good.
