Nice hotel within walking distance of jfk memorial

Efficient check in. Excellent room. Very quiet on 14th floor despite being opposite lift. Hospitality was amazing with free refreshment stand complete with cookies and cake all evening in the bar. Lift renovations were essential. Complimentary soft drinks, glass of wine or litre of beer provided. Flight layover with American. Would definitely stay again.

Magnolia hotel Downtown Dallas

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Found a great rate of $89. The staff was super nice and efficient at their job. Hotel was very nice - except the elevators took forever!!! The room was very nice; if you don't need wifi ask for room 1801 it has great views. The beds were a little hard for me and our breakfast was cold when room service delivered it.

Disappointing

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Cons: Reliable wifi is a must for business travelers.
I booked this hotel late one night due to being held over in Dallas on business. Good location downtown, but there was NO WiFi, which caused me to be unable to work while there. Also, the pillows were not comfortable, and service at hotel lounge was slow. The front desk staff was nice, but couldn't really make up for the other problems. Disappointing!

Good down-town location

The free drink between 5 and 7 is nice, free wifi, hotel elevators are a little dodgy, needs some updating and maintenance. over all not bad.

Here is your cot. The room you booked is not avail

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Not much
Cons: Everything is old & run down. No speakers or docking station. Not even an iron in the deluxe suite. Plus I had to sleep on a cot.
When I arrived to check in. I was told that the room I booked was given to someone else because the roof was leaking in their room. They did not have a 1 room in the entire hotel available with 2 beds. So 1 of us got to sleep on a cot. We also got stuck in the elevator. The rooms are old & outdated. I must definitelym, would never stay there again

Good stay

The Magnolia provided a nice overnight stay in Dallas. While the hotel's age is obvious, it is well kept and clean. Further, the staff could not be more accommodating and friendly. For a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of Dallas you could do a lot worse. I would certainly recommend The Magnolia.

The little things DO MATTER!

Pros: Very Beautiful Vintage Hotel
Cons: Customer Service; Food Service, Valet Services
My wife and I were excited to stay in a vintage (older) hotel for her 1/2 marathon in late march 2014. However, we found that many of the little things (in regards to service) were completely missing. Cold room service breakfast - all three days, including a curdled milk incident the morning of her race. She was appalled when she went to get some food for her race and took a bite of spoiled/curdled milk. Upon our departure, after waiting almost 20 minutes for a bellman, we took our nine bags down ourselves (A lot of running gear came with us). The kicker was the bellman in the elevator on the way down who politely opened the elevator door; but proceeded to walk past us and not offer assistance. We ordered our rental car to be ready for us at the same time we requested a bellman. To our disgust they hadn't even left to pick up the car when we arrived at the bell stand. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was very apologetic when we complained about the type of service we received, but after four phone calls during our stay to "complain" about their service.....it was just enough. Needless to say we don't ever plan on staying at this hotel again. A great lesson to be learned here: Just because something is beautiful on the outside does not mean they are beautiful on the inside. The little things DO MATTER!

Loved our stay at this hotel! From the valet parking to the checking in and checking out.. . Great customer service. Beautiful hotel for the price we paid and will definitely book there again…
