“Not impressed for the money”

I rented at this hotel as a surprise for my sister for her 40th. I thought for the way I was nickel and dimed for every service (and they add an automatic 18% gratuity to everything) that I would receive exemplary service. I didn't think the hotel was particulary beautiful or had anything extraordinary that would make me return. Service was average, (for example, at the pool bar they weren't able to give us menus and had run out of all food except for chips and one sandwich - this was on Sat at 4 in the afternoon)and didn't seem too apologetic about it. Have stayed in far nicer hotels for the same amount of money or less.

“Okay, but would not stay again.”

This is a very nice hotel and was conveniently located to the American Airlines Center (was in town for a concert). Parking was convenient and reasonably priced. However, I would not stay again because there are other choices that would be a better value. I know you can get a larger more updated room for the same price or lower. For the price we paid I would have liked to have breakfast included, a breakfast fruit plate was more than $35. But my biggest complaint was the lack of an ice machine. I do not like having to call room service and wait 15+ minutes for ice, plus the feeling that you're obligated to tip. I realize this would not be a big deal for many people but for me it was a major inconvenience and would prevent me from staying there again.

“In need of a makeover”

A once beautiful hotel now a bit down at the heels. The front desk woke me up at 1:00 a.m. to inform me that I was not supposed to be in my current room, that it was "out of service" and that I needed to move to another room at that very moment. They sent a bellman to assist me and moved me to a room on another floor that was identical to the room I had currently occupied. I never received an explanation for the late night switch or a satisfactory compensation for my inconvience. I used to love this hotel but now wonder about the low level of service and dated rooms.
