Nice experience

Posted Apr 15, 2014
We were in town for a competition and the hotel was an excellent choice. The set up was perfect. I was a bit confused on the make a green choice option because we requested the trash be taken out but no new towels and we ended up with new towels one day and not the next but the trash was never taken out.

Ok hotel, a bit rundown.

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Nice pool and clean room even if it was a bit run down.
Cons: Service!
Location: Great!
Promised a parking spot. When i needed it it was full and the valet did not want to help. Then they charged me for the parking anyway. Not really the service i am used to.,

Good hotel

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: Facilities, the gym and pool were very good.
Good hotel, one that seems to focus on conferences rather than individual residents but nonetheless it had all that was required. A pleasant stay.

Horrible Customer Service and Planning

Posted Mar 19, 2014
When we arrived at the Sheraton in Dallas at 10:00 at night to check into our room after flying in from Toronto we were told by the hotel staff that they had given our room away. I had specifically book a Junior Suite (required 2 beds) with the Sheraton because I was travelling for business and had to share a room with someone else. The girl had us standing there for over an hour trying to find us a room to stay in because the hotel was fully booked. They were the going to send us to another hotel down the road for one night and then we would have had to come back to the Sheraton for the rest of our stay which was 5 nights. I was not pleased with the staff for this inconvenience of having to switch hotels part way through our stay. Finally the girl found us a room at the hotel but it only had 1 king size bed and then they gave us a cot to sleep on. The hotel was very disorganized and seem to have no idea what rooms guests were staying in. Overall I was very disappointed with the hotel for giving our suite away and that I guess there is no guarantee with Expedia that if you pay extra for a certain type of room you may not get it. After this experience I probably won't use Expedia again for travel. Overall not an enjoyable trip to Dallas.

We are very sorry your room was given away and that your accommodations were not to your liking. We would love to show you that your experience was an unfortunate exception to the Sheraton Dallas' true face and spirit. We invite you to return to the hotel in the future and the next time around I assure you your stay will be enjoyable and memorable. Sincerely, Ted LePak Brand Reputation Manager

Convenient location to downtown

Posted Mar 19, 2014
The hotel located at downtown Dallas and is close to the art district. It is next to the train station which makes it convenient to go to other parts of the city. The staff are friendly and the room is clean. The only thing is that they charge $15/day for the wifi and the wifi is slow and quite often unstable.

Good location for work but bad location for food

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Just spent two nights at this hotel. It is a good location for business but a terrible location if you want food other than what the hotel offers. The facility also needs updating it has started showing its age. Every night I came to my room i had to go back to lobby because my room key won't work.

Hello Mamun, There are many food options in area, the closest are the restaurants in the Plaza of the Americas, however Pecan Lodge, Wild Salsa, the Zodiac, and Dallas Fish Market are all very good and very close. We apologize for the issues you experienced with your room key, and we invite you to stay with us again in the future. Sincerely, Ted LePak Brand Reputation Manager

Very loud street noise

Posted Mar 7, 2014
There was no room service past 11pm which was horrible for us business travelers coming from the west coast. No honor bar and bathroom was very poorly lit. Staff was very nice.

Mom's night out at the Sheraton

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. I really can't say enough good things about them.
Cons: Housekeeping really should do a second look over before declaring a room clean. My toilet was just gross!
Location: It's in downtown! There is a lot to do!!
My husband had to find me a hotel close to where I was training in Dallas since an ice storm trapped me. So, through Expedia, he found and booked me a room at the Sheraton. It was around 3:30 when he booked but when I arrived at 4:30 the hotel had no record of my reservation. So I waited in the lobby until 5:30 to check back in and still nothing with my name. The restaurant hostess was kind enough to give me hot coffee for free while I waited for my room. Very nice!! Not sure if its a lack of communication with Expedia or if the hotel's reservation system was just wonky. Somehow the very polite guest services attendants found me a room and made sure that the reservation would be taken care of given we had prepaid the room. All is good! My room was a junior suite which was really nice and I wasn't expecting a lot so I was pleased. Mind you this hotel is really old and you can tell from the many layers of paint on the doors and frames that it's had many renovations but nice none the less. Where I became really disappointed is the cleanliness! It was lacking!!! I looked around the bed had fresh sheets, bathroom had fresh towels and everything seemed in clean order...until I looked at the toilet! Just see the picture! I was grossed out!!! How can you clean everything else and miss that?! Anyway, would I stay again...sure but I would call housekeeping or bring a pair of gloves and clorox wipes along with me.
