Great hotel near heart of Dallas

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Location is great. Modern look is refreshing.
Cons: USB ports need to be added to the room.
Location: Location is at intersection of 635 and 75 Central. Easy access to either highway.
Check in is easy; parking in the garage is convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful. Benihana Japanese steakhouse is walking distance. Room is clean and hotel is modern.

Supposedly a 4 star hotel. Needs renovation.

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Everything.
When we checked into our room, we found it humid and muggy. The windows don't open so we couldn't even get fresh air. We lowered the air conditioner, trying to get some cold air into the musty room. The air handlers are old and in need of replacement. We thought about changing rooms, but the other room they showed us had the same problem. The comforter was old and fraying, the bathroom walls had water damage and stained counters. The towels were scratchy and uncomfortable, and maid service didn't even replace the complimentary coffee/tea and paper cups when they cleaned. Can't believe this was a Westin Hotel. I've had nothing but good experiences thus far with Westin, but this was unbelievable. It was a complete misrepresentation of the brand and it will hurt them.

NOT a 4 star hotel

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Price, lobby, and check-in staff
Cons: Room decor and cleanliness
Location: Near 635 and 75.
We have always been pleased with the Westin brand and considered it on par with other 4 star hotels, such as Hilton. This Westin did not live up to expectations. The lobby itself is updated and clean. Check-in was a breeze, and staff was pleasant. The room, however, was a different story. We were on the 14th floor, and the hallway felt dingy and old. There were a lot of scuffs on the doors and walls. The room was just nasty. The decor was what you would expect to find at a circa 1980 Hampton Inn-- old flowery pattern curtains, popcorn ceilings, outdated wall art. The only "Westin" things were the bedding and shower head. The bathroom floor was sticky when we arrived. The toilet seat--while I believe had been cleaned--showed old scratches and staining. When we first arrived, we went to turn on the TV and couldn't get it to work. We were getting ready to leave for dinner, and I called to complain. I was incredibly annoyed that we were already having a problem within 5 minutes of being in this gross room. They did send up engineering pretty quickly and the problem was remedied. When I took a shower and the mirror fogged up, I saw that someone had previously written on the mirror, and message showed up. Clearly the mirror had not been cleaned. The parking garage is a bit of a mess. The spaces are quite small for a large SUV. We also couldn't get the elevator to go to upper floors. Not sure what was going on there. We did not encounter any problems with finding a space.

Very nice and comfortable

My stay was very pleasant. The bed is to die for, I am considering buying a westin bed for my home! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative thing was that my room didn't come with a mini fridge. Seeing as I was there for a few days, that would have definitely been helpful. I will definitely stay again if I visit Dallas again.

Very comfy room.

The room and bed were amazingly conformance. Wanted to stay and sleep there forever. Carpets in corridor looked very old and run down. So it gives a very bad impression when you enter. But room more than made up for it for me.

Nice but doesn't provide like advertised

Posted Feb 18, 2015
It's a nice hotel but way too expensive for what you get while you are there. The a c wouldn't work right and you pay extra for parking but not guaranteed you can park in the garage. I had to park in a empty parking lot down the road because the garage was full. I still had to pay for their parking. Also i forgot a tooth brush n it showed they would give me one but front desk told me they were out n that i had to buy one from gift shop.

Close to Galleria

Everything was ok. Nothing too luxurious or fancy. I was hoping something special for Valentines day but the hotel didn't offer anything for couples.
