“Damascus New Town - great hotel”

We wanted a hotel that was easy to get to from Damascus airport, as the flight from UK arrives at midnight. This was in a business type location, but was quiet, check-in processed quick and efficiently - you don't want any messing at that time of the night. They upgared up to a fabulous 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite with lounge and mini-kitchen - such a shame we were only there for 1 night! Everything was comfortable and clean. Breakfast the next morning was a Middle Eastern buffet - a nice intro to Syrian cuisine. There is a small car park there, and it was very easy to get on to the main road to head either up to Aleppo (and routes in between) and Lebanon.

“Comfortable Hotel”

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were professional. The only down side, is the hotel is 10 minute drive from down town and it is a dry hotel.

“Fabulous friendly clean hotel with great staff”

Fabulous Hotel right on the Messe Highway, but traffic noise never seemed to be a problem. Hotel was a little remote from the old town but taxis were numerous and extremely cheap. Room was effectively a suite with a seperate sitting room, a small kitchen and bedroom with ensuite. The public areas in the hotel were bright modern and clean. The hotel is unique in having a small department store on the first two floors which stock a reasonable range of goods including perfume, jewellery, clothing etc all at reasonable prices. The availability of a pharmacy was very useful for those last minute emergency needs. I would note that the hotel is a "dry" one. No alcohol was avaialble, but being aware of that in advance did not affect our stay at all. The breakfast in the hotel was superb and offered a range of European dishses as well as local specilties. Staff in reception and the rest of the hotel were extremely helpful and courteous. Exchange rate offered at hotel was good and meant we never worried about getting ripped off by exchange bureaus or shops etc. We checked in v late (2 am) and this did not appear to create any problem at all. I will definitely be returning to Damascus and the Queen Rotana is the place to stay.

For Syria, this is a nice hotel. Good value.

“Quiet neighborhood”

This hotel is not in the hustle and bustle of the city center, and it is often hard for the taxi drivers to find, but it is a very nice hotel in a quiet, urban neighborhood. It is also located within a small shopping mall so it is very easy to get last minute items. There are some nice restaurants nearby.
