we had never stayed in a residence inn but given the opportunity I would definitely stay again! the staff was wonderful and the room was fabulous - we couldn't have asked for a better place.

Great pet-friendly place at reasonable costPosted Sep 21, 2013
Pros: Full kitchen, complimentary breakfast, nice surroundings.
Cons: Bathroom is tiny & I'm a small person (118 lbs.). Difficult getting big luggage up stairs (no elevator). Not much grass in pet relief area.
Location: Handy for us with friends in Danvers. Close to Salem & Boston. 2 restaurants in walking distance. Entry to hotel hard to find at first.
My husband and I took our 9 lb. Japanese Chin puppy to Massachusetts for New England Chinfest, a gathering of owners of this breed - and their dogs - from all over the country. We obviously needed a hotel that allows pets and we wanted some room to spread out as we would be there all week. The Residence Inn in Danvers, MA was our choice and it worked out nicely. The room is like a studio apartment, with a separate living area with sofa and chair and even a fireplace. Coming from 90 degree temperatures in TX, we enjoyed the 60-70 degree weather in MA and built a fire on a couple of the cool nights. We had never stayed at a Residence Inn before and the full kitchen was a nice surprise. I was expecting a small bar-type refrigerator and microwave as so many hotel "kitchenettes" offer, but there was a full size fridge with big freezer and a range with cooktop and oven as well as the microwave. There was also a full compliment of dishes, silverware and pots and pans. Front desk staff members were extremely nice and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was nice; I especially enjoyed being able to make waffles. The eggs weren't runny as often happens with buffet breakfasts. They have a casual dinner three nights per week but we didn't try that.

Great when having a car to visit BostonPosted Aug 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was very pleased with the stay, and my family enjoyed it as a convenient base to visit Boston. Tourist schedules regularly help you avoid significant time in traffic, hence the distance is not much of a problem on leisure trips. The facilities are in very good shape, and the staff is ver attentive and have a good disposition around the clock. I would not think it twaice and book the same hotel when I am back in the area. As an add on, Salem is really close by, and very nice to visit.

Quick StayPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
I grew up in the area and return from time to time and stay at various motels. We were very pleasantly surprised at how quiet the room was. My wife and I heard no traffic noise at all unless we were outside. Including the full breakfast as a part of the package made the stay all the more relaxing.

Outdated cottage-type hotel on highwayPosted Jul 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
First impression old/outdated. Was neither the cleanest nor dirtiest. Internet slow side. Bed comfortable enough. Kitchenette a perk. Very much a highway location, not easy to navigate. Highly suggest GPS if you don't know the area. Good things not far away from a proximity perspective. One designated smoking area. Downtown Boston <30m away, not too bad. Crane Beach nice, cost $15 to get in / parking not best. Main staff very nice. Nothing happening in evenings / dinner order in or go out. Directly next to 2 restaurants (TGI Fridays - meh, and a Steakhouse I think seemed nice), and Costco --- all <5m walks. Hotel is 2 levels.
