Hotel is close to interstate and bus transit

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Bus transportation, close to interstate, microwave and small refrigerator, plus sofa area with TV.
Cons: The laundry are is under construction, but once it is finished it will be nice to have as an ammenty.
Location: This location is close to Kickapoo Park and has reasonable rates compared to other hotels. Danville, IL has retail shopping and the convention center
Hotel is close to interstate and bus transit to go into Danville, IL so you don't have to use transportation if you do not wish to. Room was clean, comfortable, and accommodating with a small refrigerator and microwave to . Motel staff are very nice. The other item that is nice is there is a gas mart right across the street for those small items you may need without having to run into town every time. Also, Kickapoo state park is right down the road. What really sold me is the reasonable price for the clean accomadations. I wasn't looking for grandure, but a nice place to stay for a reasonable price that wouldn't break the budget. This place met that goal.

Only get if you are desperate

None of the toilets on the premises flushed and had to share a plunger with the next door guest. Wifi does not work AT ALL!!!!!!! If you had to book a room there, please book at the last resort and look for other hotels in the area.

Not what was advertised

Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: The rate was reasonable
Cons: Make sure that what is offered online is actually available. Don't resent reasonable customer requests.
Expedia website lists continental breakfast. The hotel management interprets this as free coffee. It is OK to not offer continental breakfast, but then it should not be on online sales info. The hotel manager seemed put out at our request for an extra pillow and blanket--like it was wrong for us to ask for them. Window blinds were in poor conditions.

Picture of some other motel, not this one.

Posted Sep 14, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Boondocks
Owner was hard to understand. No non smocking rooms on first floor. Dogs were left unattended and were barking when we were trying to sleep. The motel needs much repair. We have stayed at the motel 6 in Duluth,MN. because we took our dogs then and it was alot better. The toilet needed repair and the towel rack fell down. The rug by the bed was all wet from the water from the shower must be leaking. The poor man has alot of work to do . Coffee was the only thing available for a continental breakfast. Worst place we have ever stayed. NO THANK YOU

A hotel in transition

Posted Dec 31, 2012
Pros: None
Cons: Heat; upkeep.
Location: At the Danville exit by the Indiana border. Several chain hotels there that seem much more popular. Good Big Boy restaurant nearby.
We were the only guests. Apparently the hotel has recently reopened under new owners. The storm-damaged sign had not been replaced. Not sure what the new name for the hotel is. The conference center/spa was not open and did not look like the photos on the website. The lady behind the desk seemed surprised that we were coming and then noticed the fax from Expedia. Only rooms on second floor were available. Apparently 1st floor rooms were being renovated. Parking lot only partially plowed. Heat was not on in the room and it took about 3 hours to warm up.

Do not get fooled by the pictures

This hotel has not been remodeled or even repaired since the 70s. One side of their main sign is missing, the railing is peeling and some of the siding is falling off. Everything is extremely old and dirty looking in the whole hotel. The room itself was not dirty but the bathtub was filthy and so was the toilet. The water was brown until you let it run for awhile. The pool and gym were closed. This whole hotel is in disrepair and nobody should rely on the pictures on the website!
