Second visit not so good.

Pros: The area
Cons: Needs to have larger breakfast area.
Location: Good restaurants, and a quaint town. (Darien)
Stayed here before, and for the price was pleased. This time however, the room cost over twice what I paid last time, and for what I spent I could have stayed at a much nicer motel. When we walked into our room, it smelled strongly of B.O. Got A/C going and finally cleared up the air. When I went to take a shower, the handle fell off the shower into the tub. Managed to get it to hold back on long enough to shower. The bottle of shampoo was obviously used as it had only a third of what it was suppose to. Had soap bars but only three Kleenex and the box was empty. These are manageable situations, if the price is right. I feel there are too many other motels in this area to have paid so much for this room. (95.00)

Quaint comfortable place

Terrific hotel, hosting a social hour in the evening and a great breakfast in the morning. Very quiet and very friendly. Bookmarking this one for future trips

Darien Day's Inn

Will stay here again, but they need to use another vender for the breakfast food. It was un-eat-able. The biscuits were old and the sausage gravy was watered down and tasted almost spoiled. Such a waste of food. Many were throwing it in the garbage.

Close to I95, but a little dirty.

Pros: Their breakfast is reasonable, with a waffle maker, eggs, and hot oatmeal.
Cons: House keeping. The room could be cleaned with more care.
Location: Close to I95
This is a good option for a rest within a road trip, as long as you don't mind a room that is not too clean. Our bathroom smelled urine, and the bath tub had several hair pieces on it. We could see that the room had been cleaned, but the person who did it sure did not care much about properly sanitizing it.

Nice, except for the sting.

Great stay. Except for the sting : goodies (potato chips, nuts etc) are displayed on a table, so you open one and thank front desk for the nice thought only to be told later that you'll be charged for it on your credit card without you signing for it. Ex. : potato chips at 5.00 $ a box of Pringle's when they're sold 1.50$ at Walmart's, I call that a double sting.

In desperate need of renovation

My husband and I have stayed here for years under two previous owners(Sleep Well and Clean Stay)before Days Inn took over and we were satisfied with our stay. This time, although the staff was OK, the room was not. The carpet was filthy and stained, the desk chair fabric was frayed and the chair literally was in danger of collapse it was so wobbly. The sheets were a greyish color, stained, and smelled of some unknown chemical. The air conditioner/heater unit was extremely loud making sleep difficult. The breakfast advertised several options that were not available. The openly displayed in-room snacks were deceptively priced and tacky for a hotel at this price level. Certainly not up to past standards. We will be looking for other hotel options in this area on our next visit.

Sufficient for passing through

The picture of this hotel is very misleading. In reality it looks pretty run down from their outside but the inside is well kept enough for a quick overnight to get off the road. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom in our room though smelled awful. I didn't bother requesting another because I think it was just the cleaning products they used. Didn't even attempt showering in there.
