“Felt like a family's home”
Lovely hotel. It has the atmosphere of a youth hostel, with everyone congregating in a living room during the day; yet it has the amenities of a good hotel. The staff is very friendly and perfectly helpful: more than once did they ask after our experiences and showed their worry when we had small mishaps. They offered us use of their personal mobile phones to contact other hotels in our itinerary and even to call the bank back in England. In fact, it felt mroe like we were visiting a friendly and accommodating family, than staying in a commercial hotel.
“A very warm welcome”
This was a great hotel run by the Dekeva family. They go out of their way to make you welcome and look after you, from arranging taxis and trips to providing a hot water bottle in the bed at night. The room was a little chilly but a heater was provided on request. Good choice of breakfast and a good location for other retaurants. Although the weather was poor for much of our visit on the last day we at last saw the mountains but there is still lots to see in and around Darjeeling and the hotel is in a good location for exploring the town. Just remember, if you are retired like us you are at a high altitude and the hotel is built into the side of a mountain - pace yourself climbing the stairs!! Reception is on the second floor but I guarantee you will get a warm welcome.

Very nice hotel, clean. Very good location and a very nice and quite common area.
“Stayed 3 nights but could have stayed 3 weeks”
Everything about staying here was a pleasure. From being loaned the right cash to pay our taxi driver when we arrived through the personal send off when we left 4 days later. We had a great view from our room which spacious, comfy and had a bathroom with plenty of hot water. The lounge was fantastically comfortable and we almost drifted off there most evenings. Breakfast was decent and the laundry service speedy. Advice was on hand whatever your question was. If we had had longer, we would have stayed much longer.
