My best friend and myself go away every couple of years for our birthdays. This year we choose 4 nights in Sydney, as we are huge NRL fans and the Rabbitohs and Eels were playing which happen are our teams. Friday was the start of the Vivid light festival. So We booked a dinner cruise on the Harbour for Saturday night. Just a quick 10 mins walk to King street wharf were the cruise departed from. And the view from our room every night was absolutely stunning. The only downside of the whole trip was We had to leave.

It was not my first stay at this hotel. My husband and I were staying in the City for the SMH Half Marathon.
Because of the hotel upgrade (the construction), the lobby has been moved to one of the shops. It has been done tastefully and is functional, in spite of the in-out traffic going through the check-in/out area.
The check in went smoothly, we asked for a late check out and it wasn't a problem and the room was ready, too.
We booked a city side room, there was construction going on below, but the noise was minimal.
I love the bed linen, clean and pleasant to sleep in.
It would be nice if the toilet bowls would be cleaned under the rim, as well - took me about 20 antibacterial wipes to clean it.
We left our key card at the reception when we left for the run and when we returned, the lady at the reception organised a concierge to let us into the room and to check our identity. I appreciate their approach to security.
Regarding the online booking process: there were two prices for the same room type with no clear difference. Would be nice if Expedia would make sure to state why one would pay more (about $20) for the same room.

"Very nice, roomy hotel. Fabulous Front Desk Staff!"
We arrived here after a long 25 hour flight from America. The front desk staff was simply AMAZING and bent over backwards to assist us and get us to our room ASAP! The room itself was nice and comfortable! I have seen many people complain it is dated, but that is nit picking. The room was clean and had everything one could wish for, with lot's of space to stretch out in, after that long flight! The location to EVERYTHING Sydney is UNBEATABLE as well! I highly recommend this hotel and would DEFINITELY stay here again.

We chose the Oaks Goldsborough for it's location in Darling Harbour and the price and we weren't disappointed. We chose a studio apartment and our room was spacious and especially with the high ceiling it felt large. Although our view on the balcony was to a carpark building next door we didn't mind as we were out all day anyway. Although there is a motorway close by we didn't experience any noise at all. Loved the bed- so soft and comfortable. Each day a staff member changed our towels and took any rubbish.
There is a light rail stop 2-3 mins walk away that connects at Central Station therefore the airport, although the hotel also offers transfers to the airport for around $30 for two people- good value.

Spent 2 nights here after long business trip in AU. This hotel was a much needed treat at the end of a extended stay. Skip the masses at the larger hotels and stay here. The hotel is modern and relaxing. The staff is extraordinary and very helpful. The lounge with bar and food services is the perfect place to start or end your day.
My room was small, which I anticipated when I booked it as the shoebox room. But it was very comfortable and relatively quiet. Since I was traveling alone the small room was fine - cozy. If you are traveling with a companion and have luggage, you might select a bigger room.

My wife and 3 kids all had a great time. Staff were helpful and friendly, the location is so close to great restaurant's and shops. I had the best steak I have ever had at a restaurant only 5 mins walk away called meat and wine co.
Room was good and clean. It would be worth staying there for the breakfast alone as it was the best buffet I have ever seen.
Overall great hotel in a great location and cant wait to stay there again.

An easy downhill walk from the city centre, and also accessible by monorail, Darling Harbour is home to Sydney’s main convention and exhibition facilities, and also acts an entertainment hot spot. Overlooking the water on Cockle Bay are pulsating night-and-day bars, cafés, and restaurants, plus an aquarium, wildlife park, and free maritime museum. The nearby Chinese Gardens provide a serene distraction.
