Friday night stayPosted Jul 8, 2013
Location: Good location, close to the main food and shopping areas of town, but just enough away that you don't get the noise.
Nice hotel, although for a one night stay I didn't get to see or use much of the facilities. While the room was nice, the view was horrible, looking onto the back of an office building. The pool area was very nice. Breakfast was included in my cost and was great, however staff were a bit slow on replacing things at the buffet as they were emptied. If I was to stay again I'd request a room on the Cavenagh St or Knuckey St side of the complex, and a higher floor.

4-star hotel at bestPosted Jul 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Not worth the price. lack of service will keep this place below a 5 star hotel. No doorman, no bell staff, no pool staff, limited room service, limited breakfast, EXTREAMLY SLOW AND LIMITED DOWNLOAD INTERNET. Lots of extra charges.

Solid 4-starPosted Jul 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
No where near a 5-star place. Service is nonexistant when you depart the frontdesk. The price is 5-star (i.e. high) but then the nickel and dime you for more from snacks to internet. Wi-Fi is expensive, very slow, and limited in packet size. Terrible Internet.

Clean, great view.Posted Jun 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great view from 16th floor. New hotel, room was clean and had everything you need for a short stay. A bit expensive though.

Enjoyable stay in DarwinPosted Jun 21, 2013
Cons: No guest laundry for own washing.
Good location and staff were very helpful. There was no information booklet in room with regards to the hotel and it's facilities. The room was very comfortable and everything in it that we required, but we felt a dusting of the furniture every few days would have been required as we were staying there for 10 days, and it didn't appear to have been done. The room had a damp smell (from a leak in the air conditioner, which was repaired when we reported it)but unfortunately the smell was still there from the wet patch on the carpet and lingered for the period we were there.

On check in given wrong type of room, hotel staff when asked to rectify made us feel that we weren't intitled to this room and the buffet breakfast included. It took 2days for staff to not make a fuss. This tainted our stay. However there was one staff member who went out of her way to be friendly. It took the cleaning staff 2 days to clean our room, they didnt refill the complimentry tea and milk. Luckily they left there cleaning trolley in our corridor for 2 days so was able to help ourselves on these items. To use the car park it was an extra cost of $15 a day even though you were mostly out an about all day, very expensive and a rip off.

Good room marred by noisy aircon/dehumidifier.Posted Apr 1, 2013
Pros: Clean, central, comfortable
Cons: Aircon like having a helicopter in the room
Location: Just south of the mall
Looks good from the foyer and indeed the room was in itself comfortable apart from a couple of things - a minor quibble, there was no light switch that could be reached from the bed as far as I could find, and a major one.... The aircon and dehumidifier together were really very loud indeed. I was expecting noise - Darwin in March is hot and humid so I was happy to trade some noise for tolerable living conditions. But this was crazy - even on the lowest settings it was still way too noisy to read, talk on the phone, etc. I had to sleep with my noise-cancelling headphones on! Not sure if it was a fault (room 823) but I didn't think so and certainly housekeeping didn't bat an eyelid. It was quieter on the plane to and fro. The dehumidifer worked fine - took about 5 litres out every 12 hours - as did the aircon, set on 22 - it just chugged along sounding like a London taxi... Otherwise, well placed - a short stroll to the convention centre, handy for the supermarket, restaurants etc - and comfortable, clean and well furnished rooms.
