“Best Hotel in Davao”

This is the nicest place to stay in Davao. It's very secure with armed guards. It's luxurious. The location is excellent - short cab ride to the malls; within walking distance to the bars and restaurants on Torres St. It accepts US style electric plugs so need need to bring an adaptor. I've stayed here twice. I especially like the breakfast buffet selection. Complaints: They charge a lot for wi-fi (relatively speaking); the traffic noise wakes me up every morning; during my 2nd stay, the in-room fridge didn't chill very well.

“Putting the WOW back into hotel service and food.”

Excellent Hotel to stay at if you don't mind paying alittle extra. Manager told me "free wifi" to start early next year. Amazing breakfast buffet. Fresh sashimi tuna melted in your mouth. Beautiful pool. Comfortable bed. Superior security, etc. I'm a tough critic from New York City and this was one of the best folks.....stay at Marco or visit it when in Davao. We loved it all. Happy Travels.

“Lost opportunity”

This seems once to have been a good hotel, it made finalist in a 2007 Asia competition. It wouldn't today. Bathrooms lack hand towels, & spare toilet rolls. Room service is prompt and good, but food was lukewarm when delivered. The breakfast buffet ran out of items well before closing time. Even breakfast cereal ran out! No more stock!!! If you order fried eggs, which most hotels cook whilst you wait, despite an army of chefs it takes them ages and they deliver to your table. All in all It's just very badly managed. The manager is never to be seen, so standards drop.

“Ideal Location in Davao City”

Great hotel, great location, close to everything and the best breakfast buffet! Aldevinco, is right across, its rows of local shops for pearls, souvenirs and gifts -you can bargain! If you are looking to stay in Davao City, stay here. It was well worth it for me!

“Great Service and Buffet”

I would without a doubt stay here again. The service was great. It is a very clean hotel with great security and the breakfast buffet is out of this world.

“Great for location.”

Perfect hotel in the heart of downtown Davao...did not appreciate super expensive fee for WI-FI 500.00 pesos for "25 hrs"..I think it's highway robbery..should not be so expensive,better yet should be free for patrons like me..as any traveler could attest,this is part of our everyday life communication(i.e..phones and computers)..like me who's travelling from USA it was a necessity to communicate back home..and the hotel should not only give you a good night sleep but a piece of mind as well.

“Great hotel in Davao”

“Fabulous, seriously (I'm picky)”

This hotel is probably 4.5 stars from the structure to the service to the location. Davao isn't exactly a spectacular city but this hotel brings all the comforts of the first world to the third. Our room was perfect everyday, we could trust the staff with computers, cash and other valuables. Restaurant buffet is international and high quality. The pool and gym are quite nice. We didn't try the spa but it looks awesome. Most of all, I appreciated the service. They were not rude to my less-than-affluent relatives who came to visit us. This is important to me because while I can afford a higher standard of living, I do not appreciate high-brow service that treats people like second class citizens. Marco Polo offers good service to everyone. Definitely the best place to stay in Davao!!!

“Comfort +”

The staff was amazing from opening doors for us to cleaning the room. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever been to offering cuisine from around the world and fresh juices like papaya and watermelon. So fresh that a lite syrup is offered to sweeten to taste. The bistro was also over the top but very pricy for the Philippines. Overall, a wonderful stay.

The open air market which takes up several blocks is a cultural experience not to be missed.

“As advertised”

The Marco Polo seems to be recognized with maybe one other as the best hotel in Davao. While this may be true, it is certainly not up to the standards I've become accustomed to in my travels. In my estimation, the Marco Polo is nearing 4-star quality, but it feels just a bit short. In any event, it was as advertised and met our needs for an overnight before heading out to the wonderful Pearl Farm. I would recommend the hotel but be careful of high expectations.
