Don't stay here. Our business meeting ran longer then expected so we asked for a slightly longer checkout and the hotel (Logan) was extremely unaccommodating. He said if we were longer then 10 minutes past checkout time they would charge us for another full night. The hotel was not booked and housekeeping was on a different floor cleaning, so they wouldn't have got to our room for potentially hours. Due to this, we ruined our relationship with a client since we couldn't call them from a loud cafe in town and we were driving to Whitehorse the entire day. The hotel also has a restaurant but doesn't offer room service so you have to go down to get drinks. We bought a bottle of wine for the room because of this but the hotel wouldn't let us use a bottle opener or give us cups, so we ended up having to leave to a restaurant. This place is cheap and feels like a hostel.

After discussing the situation with my team there seems to have been a break of communication and I sincerely apologize for this. I will work with the Desk and Housekeeping team to improve handling extended stay requests. You should have been given a bottle opener and wine glasses to use since due to staffing we are not able to offer room service at our location. I do hope you will give us another chance in the future and if you are able to reach out to me directly I would like to have an opportunity to make things right. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with me – we take all reviews seriously and will use them in our continuous improvement efforts!

Great customer service
We enjoyed our stay. Most properties popular with tourists this time of year cater all their customer service to the cruise ship passengers, Westmark made us feel just as special as that group. Being from Alaska, that means a lot.

It is unacceptable that this hotel only has guest wifi in the lobby, not in guest rooms. The owners clearly are coasting on the tourist trade, but they need to join the 21st century and upgrade the wifi all around.

I was a bit disappointed I booked and paid for two room’s assuming that it was understood I would want the two rooms next to each other ( I booked these rooms in may for a July stay) but when we got to the property I was on one floor and my sister on another. cable wasn’t working

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We do our very best in placing guests near to each other when we receive multiple bookings under the same name. If the reservations were under different names and no request to be next to each other we would not have been able to know if you wanted to be near each other. The City of Dawson has been upgrading the cable to offer better service and it has affected the community. I apologize that we were not able to meet your needs during your stay.
