“The best base hotel off base...”

The Hope Hotel was very conveniently located for people who need base access and cannot get accommodations on base. Everything was very clean, bright, and airy. The staff was fabulous, and the bartender and waitress were very friendly and kept me company. The only (minor) complaint I have is that when the refrigerator kicks on, it is noisy. However, if you jostle it around a bit, it stops rattling. Very pleasant stay overall!

“Best hotel on WrightPatterson AFB”

Like many of the airplanes on display at the National USAF Museum (a couple of miles down the street) this hotel's best days were during the Cold War. My room was "okay". I'm not sure how clean it was - it was pretty dark. The carpeting was old and a little grubby. The bed was squeeky. The door knob was the kind with a metal key on the hall side and a push button on the other. No secondary bolt lock, but it did have one of those swing-away latches that let you open the door a little bit to see who's there. The hotel is on the grounds of the (huge) Wright Patterson Air Force Base. I gather it gets a lot of business from Air Force personnel and contractors. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but no other restaurants, stores or attractions in the vicinity The street entrance to the hotel parking lot is poorly marked. You won't see the small sidewalk-level sign until your drive past it. I guess this sounds like a negative review, but my thee-night stay wasn't that bad - it was good value for the low price.
