Desert Inn Resort & Convention Center

My 3 friends and I arrived at at check-in time and the room wasn't ready. The lady said 30-45 minutes and when we returned she told us to go to the next line because she was getting off, leaving only one open line. It took 30 minutes to check-in and they asked for a $100 deposit in cash that wasn't mentioned anytime during booking. We went up to the room and it was facing the city, after booking an oceanside room. When I approched the front counter to inquire as to why the room wasn't oceanside the guy said that's just the way it was advertised. The sheets were sandy, the floor was dirty and there wasn't even a closet. There was just a rusty rack to hang stuff on. There were only two towels in the bathroom and when my friends went to ask for more they said they were out of towels. Really?

Hotel is clearly a party place for younger people. I did not feel safe staying there with myself and my daughter. I only stayed one night of my six night reservation - On a good note, I did get most of my money back.

Pictures look better than the hotel really is. Is in dire need of overall renovations or just tear the place down and start over.

I was very upset. They never cleaned our room for our stay. We had to ask for towels and when we did they gave us an attitude. The room smelled like wet dog and was very gross. The a/c did not work and had to open our balcony for fresh air. The restaurant was gross and the food and food safety was sub par. WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN IN MY LIFE!!!!!

Wonderful area. Not to happy with the room. Old beds and funiture. Old mildew smelly carpet. Not even a alarm clock. Didn't get the room I paid for. Not even a coffee machine. Store or resturant wasn't even open. Only thing I was really happy with was my view from the roon and the area! Oh yeah! Had to go to the front desk for ice!! Never staying there again!!

The staff were friendly but the hotel was not in good shape for the price we paid. We were given a room in the court yard, which I complained because it looked like the slums (busted door jams, holes pieced by small pieces of wood, mold in ceilings and tub) then we were moved to another room upon my complaining of the price I paid for what it looked like. Then we were locked out of our room for over an hour because the lock malfunctioned. It was not a decent stay. I would not stay here again. If I would have known I could share pictures upon a hotel rating I would have taken alot to post.

Staff very helpful. Good location. Comfy bed.

My hotel room smelled like mold the ceiling had been patched the sound on the tv didn't work we walked around the hotel and down where the game room was there was a pool table with mild on it and water coming through the roof and it was not raining! Will not visit this hotel met some other people that rented a jacuzzi room and it didn't work!

We had a nice stay except the beds are very hard
