Will not book for my clients

I booked this hotel for my clients. The location on the beach and the photos on the website made me feel this would be a nice place for them to vacation. My clients were very disappointed with the Mayan. To quote my clients , it was gross, disgusting and they would never stay there again . The only shining light was the staff that tried to make their stay comfortable. The hotel needs refurbishment , it's outdated and it wasn't the cleanest. I am quite frankly embarrassed that I booked them here. I will definitely never book any of my clients at this hotel ever again .

Cons: The rooms really need upgraded. The beds are not the best.
Had a hard time getting towels and washcloths. The maid never left any and you had to wait until late in the evening to ask at the front desk. Also, toilet paper was never replaced in the room by the maid. Had to also ask at the front desk for toilet paper. The key to the room would not work correctly! Had to keep getting the key programmed, even though the key was separate from ANYTHING period and it would still deactivate. Other than this hassle the stay was overall pleasant.

We stayed from a Sunday-Thursday. They neglected to tell us they would be doing work on the deck everyday from 9-5. So we got to wake up to what sounded like a jack hammer every morning. U couldn't sit on the balcony or lay by the pool it was aweful u couldn't carry on a conversation or just relax. I asked for a refund and couldn't get one. We had 2 roaches on the wall the 3rd night. The hotel is old and the rooms look wore out. A guy who wasn't even a guest at the hotel hit on my daughters 15yr old Friend, he had to be in his 70s. At breakfast one morning a guest got into a confrontation with the employee overseeing breakfast. The guest was definitely in the wrong and the employee handles it very professional but none the less breakfast was ruined by his yelling. I stay in hotels often and this was by far my worst experience

Cons: everything , starting with new management and staff
Location: shopping and a bunch of homeless people begging for money everytime we left our room
We were not able to check in at the motel at 3 pm as we should, it was around 5;45 for the first room and the second room wasn;t ready till after 6 pm. we were not unable to get clean towels. the pool was not clean. the lobby looked like they were having a party it was dirty. one of the beds was not clean we had to get clean sheets before we could go to bed. The stove in our room was left on. and the Air conditioning did not work well the rooms were hot. I will not go back to this motel. and the staff was rude the management would not speak to anyone about the delay of our check in . there was several people trying to check in and was being told the rooms were not available. all the house keeping staff was really rude to us when we ask for clean towels for our room and we had requested extra towels when we made our reservations . all together a bad experience.

Probably won't stay again. Very late check in. Room was not available until 7pm due to rooms needing to be cleaned with not enough staff to accommodate the check out of maybe 70 rooms, so I was told. So with the rush of cleaning rooms they were not supplied sufficiently and the manager that day 6/20, decided not to show leaving others to deal with the problems.

parking was really hard to find ..the elevator was made noise as you in them ..the bed was lopsided... And it was noisy...no carpet in the lobby...are you kidding me...??...thank God we got hot water but it wasn't the best shower..

Location: Next to boardwalk and pier, Ocean Deck, restaurants, gift shops, Main St
I used to live in the area, so I knew the hotel was old. I chose it based on location, as I brought my elderly mom there, and wanted to be close to everything. We arrived at 6am, and they got our room ready by 12:30( check in isn't till 3). In the process of checking in( with 2 teens) I misplaced my cell phone. The staff immediately recovered it within 30 minutes!! When we got up to our room, our balcony door was jammed- the front desk had someone up there in 5 minutes to repair it. We even watched the fireworks over the ocean from our balcony!
