Pleasant hotel on the beachPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Location on the beach
Cons: Internet speed, only 11Mbps
Location: Located right on the drive beach, but about a 10 minute walk north to the no drive beach and preserve area. Close to restaurants, Daytona, etc.
Older hotel on the beach. Good value. We stay here almost every time we come to Ormond Beach. Clean rooms, beds, bathrooms, friendly staff. Adequate breakfast. Slow internet, housekeeping is sometimes late in the day.

Great findPosted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: We liked that the breakfast included hot and cold items. It was quite substantial.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly.

Close to the BeachPosted Dec 31, 2013
Pros: Close to the beach, hot breakfast
Cons: Rooms are still outdated and need maintenance work.
This hotel is right on the beach, however, it is an older hotel, bathroom walls paint chipped and falling; comforters on bed were torn, cigarette burns on them and the second night, the room smelled like we were actually smoking in it. Not pleased with this hotel at all. The only good thing was the hot breakfast.

Loved the view!Posted Dec 25, 2013
Pros: Almost everything and I will return. The room was great, view and breakfast wonderful.
Cons: Fix the paint in the bathroom; get a more current certificate in the elevator (Aug 2013 expiration date);add something whole-grain to the breakfast
Location: Sun rising from the Atlantic Ocean is priceless! Art museum on Granada Blvd;Lovely Riverside Dr just east of Granada bridge. Longhorn Steakhouse!!
Huge window facing the ocean was wonderful. Cleanliness and staff excellent. The elevator didn't work properly, but as promised it was promptly repaired the next morning (a Sunday). The microwave did not work at first but the kind manager came up in a flash to replace it. My only criticism was there was some peeling paint in the bathroom and a tiny cigarette burn on one bedspread. Other than these two things, it was wonderful and I plan to stay again. The shower was extra roomy, bed and pillows extra comfy, staff and breakfast extra adequate. The room was one of the largest I've ever had. Belgian waffle maker in the breakfast room made me the best waffle I've ever had, three mornings in a row. I shall return.

Turkey Run OvernightPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is one of the cleanest and most comfortable I have stayed in all my travels. I particularly like the parking arrangements. I drive an exotic vehicle and I felt it was secure there. I have already made arrangements to stay there next Turkey Run.

Great price AND beachsidePosted Nov 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
RATE: $60/ngt. PARKING: It's a little tricky. Enter on the left side next to the office and you horseshoe around the parking lot, exiting on right. Ample parking. Parking pass must be displayed. Lighting was decent. CHECK-IN: Front desk folks were really nice. $15 deposit was held for incidentals. ROOM: Rooms are exterior access. They've done a good job of maintaining an old building. The room had a large flat-screen HDTV, fridge/microwave, table, pay-to-use room safe, hotel brand soaps/products, hair dryer, single-serve coffee maker (non-kuerig). Not a fan of the fake flowers/plants in the room. BEDS/PILLOWS: Beds were fine and had daily washable solid cotton blankets instead of those really bad/dirty bedspreads found in some hotels. woohoo! OH-BY-THE-WAY: the room had a portable dehumidifier in it. I had to empty the water tray, but it was actually nice to have it in the room as there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. GROUNDS: Hotel is L shaped with the top of the "L" being beach side, so all rooms are ocean view with the pool inside the "L." LOCATION: beachfront. FOOD: they offer a continental breakfast which includes yogurts, pastries, doughnuts, biscuits and gravy, coffee. LOCAL INFO: Bonefish Grill, IHOP and Burger King are < 0.5 miles from the hotel. Eat early as most restaurants seemed to close 9-10pm mid-week. CVS and Walgreens pharmacies are within one mile. Cute downtown area with bistros, brew pubs, yoga, etc. OVERALL: I'd stay again and recommend.

Pros: The location.
Cons: The entire hotel needs updating.
We were in town to attend a memorial service and needed a room for one night. The hotel is ideally located on the beach but needs some updating. The room was clean and met our needs for a short stay. However, the air-conditioning compressor was very loud when cycling on and off which disrupted our sleep. The complimentary breakfast was adequate and included both hot and cold selections. With so many beachside hotels in the area, we probably would not stay here again.
