Room was HUGE and very clean! Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Never had to move my car, everything was within walking distance. Will be back next year.

“Go there all the time”

* Yes, I just stayed at the Saxony. I have visited the same hotel for years. It is what it is. A inexpensive hotel that is in a good location but a little on the dumpy side. I stay there all the time and would recommend it to anyone who is not a snob, or neat freak. The sheets are clean and it is a good place to crash after seeing the sights. Within walking distance of the tourist area, and right on the beach. Just walk out of your room and 50 ft is the shore. The price is right,and if you are a yuppie do not stay here. This is a good value and a budget hotel in a great location. If you don't like it stay 2 doors down and pay 3 times the rate with the same view.

“What a view”

Much more than I expected. The only drawback was no balcony but the huge windows looking out over the beach and boardwalk were great. Had an unadvertised jacuzzi tub in a sunroom of windows it was excellent. Staff was friendly and accomodating. I go to Daytona twice a year and I now have a new place to stay

“Great room on a budget”

I took a chance on this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. It's no 5 star place, but for a person on a budget, it's a great deal. The bedroom was huge and there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room as well. It's also a short walk to a convenience store, which was great. I really enjoyed my view of the ocean for a much cheaper price than expected! I would definitely stay here again.

“Lovely and Sad”

I slept like a baby at the Saxony. The staff is marvelous and friendly and very accomodating. You cannot beat the location, the Daytona Pier, has a big 5 star hotel on one side and the Saxony on the other side. The view is amazing and the location is perfect in the heart of shopping and restaurants. I am hoping that these great people are planning some major upgrades. The chairs in the room were so dirty that I would not have given them to Goodwill, they needed a dumpster. There was a hole in the bathroom door that had never been patched. The bathroom has no sink, it is actually by the dining room with the microwave and mini fridge. The mini fridge was leaking and there was mold growing on the bathroom baseboards and door trim. I have stayed in most hotels on Daytona Beach and I would go back to the Saxony to see what they might do. With such great staff and perfect location, I am afraid they just don't have to fix it up! But I will give them another try! Many of the hotels have suffered financially with the hurricanes and I hope the Saxony is just going to move on up!

“Close to the beach and pier”

It's close to the beach and pier. Since we were gone most of the day, we only needed a bed, shower, and clothes rack; and we got that at a low price. We overlooked some of the repair which the room needed, and were happy to be a few feet away from sand and sun.

“Old and it shows!”

We stayed here during the beginning of bike week. We were expecting to pay alot for a room during this week. This place is right on the beach which was wonderful, but not worth the price. Granted we would've paid a WHOLE LOT more with any other place. The room itself was large and the beds were ok. However, the front door had to be slammed to shut/lock. The sink was dirty around the drain. The outside is in need of major work and the age of the place is very apparent. Even with the above issues, we were happy about the location for bike week.

“A place to sleep only - fairly clean but run down.”

Hotel is a typical "old" Daytona Beach style. It has been allowed to run down, probably going to be torn down. Had to pay for parking even though add says "Complimentary self parking, an outdoor swimming pool, and 24-hour front desk are among the amenities offered". Front desk only open til 8:00pm. Maid never, in four days, did anything but flip blanket back onto bed.
