Close to beach, but its a mixed back of tricksPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location, pool, quiet, staff, parking, view.
Cons: Update all rooms and make them brighter. Ensure they are not musty prior to anyone staying.
Location: Ormond is QUIET !!!! Its great. Not much to do for the teens.... kids are good with the beach. Of course, Daytona Beach is just down the road
First room was beautiful but JUST been painted. NO way to sleep in there. Second room was very very musty... had to go buy air freshener to treat it myself. Was not worth the price. A hundred, maybe. Great view. Quiet. Just glad it was only me in the room.. Would've been disappointing to a guest, if invited due to the musty smell. Main lobby elevators are VERY slow... use the on on the other side of the building. Enough parking. Very close beach drive on access. Staff was VERY helpful. Jessica and Angel were great. The joint is older and it shows... make sure you ask about any recent painting and odors.... Overall, since it was just me, a 7 out of 10. If it'd been a family or a date.... 4 out of 10 due to the hassle of finding another room which was not up to speed for the money.

Excellent Beach ViewPosted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: The ocean view..
Cons: The rooms should have wifi...
Location: The location is great.. You are within minutes of the Oceanwalk, shopping miniature golfing.
The hotel is right on the beach with an excellent room view. The pool is big with a kiddie pool beside it. This is my first trip to Daytona and I will not hesitate to come back and stay at this hotel. My family stayed a few hotels down from here and their place was much smaller than the Maverick. It's very quiet and family oriented. The only downfall was that the rooms did not have wifi.. You would have to go to the lobby for wifi..

Good hotel for the moneyPosted Jul 29, 2012
Pros: The room had a great view of the beach.
Cons: No carpet on the floor which got dirty often.
Location: The hotel was located in Ormond Beach, just north of Daytona Beach.
The hotel was an older one, but in good shape; the room wasn't very big and didn't have carpet floors, but had a great view. The staff was attentive to any situations that arose while we were there. I would recommend this hotel and we plan to return again in the future.

perfect for those on a budgetPosted Jan 3, 2012
Pros: balcony and beach views
Cons: the couch had a stain =/ but then again we never had to use it probably soda
Location: distance was a little far but the 10-15 min on the trolley is worth it when you think of the savings
Don't think you'd find a better hotel for the price. It's not luxury but everything you need and more. fully stocked kitchen, microwave, all rooms have views of the beach and they each have a balcony. It's right on the beach but not walking distance from the main attractions BUT their is a trolley(bus) that passes every 20 min right in front of this hotel. It that takes you straight to the pier, boardwalk and main street in under 15min(b/c of stops). downside: beds are small but perfect for cuddling with your partner it was basically a full-size bed. I am sure they have queen size but for a few nights the full-size was perfect.

will returnPosted Mar 24, 2011
hotel looked 95% new, room was very nice, great view of ocean and beach. Everything was clean, no problems, nice staff. Went for bikeweek from Palatka Fl. The area we were in was totally renavated, looked as the whole building was complete.

Nice view, basic accommodationsPosted May 10, 2006
The things that stand out about this hotel are proximity to the beach and oceanfront balcony views. Unlike most Ormond Beach hotels, this one is situated parallel to the beach, so that all rooms are facing the ocean directly. In this regard, The Maverick stands out. Don't expect luxurious or fancy accommodations, though, but the average kind for one or two star lodgings. Since the positives clearly outweigh the negatives, I do not see any reason to avoid this hotel, and would recommend it.
