“Not a Pleasant Lasting impression”
Our first room was a disaster. TV did not work, ceiling had been damaged and was repaired poorly or not yet completed??? Worst was the towel bar/rack over stool was pulled out of wall on one side and hanging ( with screws intact) with clean towels hanging and on top! Free WI-FI never was accessible on our Apple products!!!! Desk personnel were inexperienced and unprofessional. Though we were moved to an upgraded suite rather than the room we initially had been assigned, we still had no wi-fi. Property is older and driveway/road needs LOTS of help. I would rather have stayed in the new Hampton Suites or Holiday Inn- both next door. This property needs some serious attention.
“Worst Bed Ever!”
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night in early November 2009. By 4 a.m., neither one of us could stand to lay in the bed any further as it was as hard as a rock. The next morning I went to the clerk to see if their was something that we could do about the bed such as changing rooms, a matress pad, anything. To my surprise we were told that there was nothing that could be done. So, we checked out and moved over to the Days Inn just down the street which is an older hotel but one with much more comfortable beds. My advice, save yourself the hassle and discomfort and skip the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Brookings all together. Frankly, it would have been more comfortable to sleep in our car!
