Nice hotel good location

Posted Jul 21, 2015
I liked that it was separate from the main casino. I also liked that it had a parking garage , which provided nice cover from the rain during our stay. A little outdated, but clean.

Mount Rushmore Stop

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: The gaming area in the next building was nice.
Cons: Have carts for luggage available by the parking lot doors. We had to make several trips to get our items in the room.
Location: The gambling was great and the town is really cute. We had the best steak dinner ever at the Legends Steakhouse at The Franklin Hotel.
We booked this room on line and the price was good. The room was OK. They did give us a small fridge for no charge. We had been traveling for a long time and needed to keep things cold. The internet worked when we first checked in, but later did not work at all. The shower was horrible. Not only was it super small, but the the shower head just trickled out. For the price the room was OK and clean.

Very reasonable for Deadwood

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Right at the edge of Deadwood so your not stuck in the middle of town. You can walk right onto the main street or take a trolley. The new building is nice and parking is great and spacious. The room was clean and big. The only thing I didn't like was the bed. It was Rock hard. But that is up to personal preference, I like them softer.

Outdated, clean, good value

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Update some items within the hotel and have a better fitness room.
Location: We were driving through to Mount Rushmore so we didn't do anything near the hotel.
The rooms and hotel was outdated, but they were clean. We were only staying one night and it worked for us for one night. Everyone we talked too were friendly and helpful. Overall it was a good location for us and a good value.

Room was okay, bathroom was really small!

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Just an average hotel. Nothing about it made it special.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind. The front entrance could be a little more defined as to the motel and not the casino entrance.
Location: Since we were driving the location was not a factor.
Experience was overall good. Nice casino, which was why we were there.

Great Location and friendly staff

Posted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: Great location, accommodating staff, clean rooms and the bed was heavenly.
Cons: Need to put a small frig in the room. Didn't like having to take the elevator down to get ice.
Location: You are in the center of town there is always places to go. Lots of places to eat and great attractions just outside of the parking lot.
We were pleased the hotel, however, the room was small and there was no frig in the room. You had to take the elevator down to the first floor to get ice. This is not a 4 star hotel, but the room was very clean and the bed was absolutely heavenly to sleep on. The staff was friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a hotel with a pool, this is not the place for you. The location can't be beat. There is covered parking which we found to be a perk since the temp the first day we were there was 98 degrees. Our car was always cool when we went to use it. The food was excellent. As I said, the only disadvantage was not having a small frig to keep your drinks cold, would have been nice to have the ice machine on the same floor since there was nothing to keep anything cool, it. We will be returning again, but this next time we'll bring a cooler.

Decent hotel - outside edge of town though

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Covered parking garage, free WIFI, decent room.
Cons: More stable WIFI, better transportation to the down town core and between buildings.
Location: Edge of town, not much in the immediate area. If you walk about 1 to 1.4 miles, you are in the downtown core where all the action is.
Decent hotel with a covered parking garage which is pretty rare in the area and much desired given the weird and extreme weather that can roll through. Three buildings comprise the hotel proper and you can end up staying in any of the three. Short walk up a hill from building 1 to buildings 2/3. They do have golf carts to run you between buildings, but those are infrequent. The rooms are a good size and the bed is decent. In general WIFI and cellular in town is pretty bad, even through hotels and down town establishments. This hotel is no different in this regard and had pretty spotty cellular and WIFI coverage - although WIFI is free.

Nice hotel.

Enjoyed the hotel. Clean and good parking. Not the closest to downtown shops but easy to drive there. Did not care for the buffett. Casino is nice but not attached to hotel.

Clean, quiet, but...

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Clean; Quiet.
Cons: Include breakfast with price (or give option ahead of time)
Location: On the outskirt of town, walkable, but there are better lodgin options (with good parking) in town.
No breakfast except $11 dollar buffet (not including beverage or service fee). On the outskirt of Deadwood; would go with Hampton or Franklin Inns next time.
