Pros: Very clean, close to malls and restaurants as well as decently close to train stations.
Cons: 3 towels & 3 wash cloths were put in our room daily (we're a family of 4). We'd have to ask front desk for more daily (not too friendly). Bed was hard
Overall a good experience. Mattress was hard and we all had backaches but room was always clean, which we appreciate.

Fairly spartan for the money.

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: One of my pet peeves in hotels is shower heads that come out of the wall at about eye level forcing me to duck under them to shower. Not this room.
Needed a hotel close to Deer Park and Barrington to crash after an evening event. This was the closest to our house concert destination, and cost about $124.00. We could have stayed in Barrington at an America's Best Value Inn for $50 less. I didn't get much for my $50. The big bed was comfortable but there was tub, no fridge in the room, problematic electrical outlet placement, and no bars or restaurants (or anything else) within walking distance.

Thank you for selecting our hotel while choosing to stay in the area during your event. We are grateful for your business given out of the many hotel choices available to you. I was disappointed to know that you felt our price did not support our accommodations and amenities provided to you during your stay. Although we offer limited amenities, we do provide a clean and comfortable environment for our guests.I have addressed your concern to the maintenance department to fix the electrical issue in your room. I appreciate your candid feedback regarding our location and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We hope to have another opportunity to host you again in the future. Is it ok to ask a guest to sleep on the floor??

Posted Apr 29, 2015 on Hotels
My family stayed here while in the Chicago area for my grandmother's funeral. I booked a room for 3 adults, 2 kids (called ahead, was assured the room could accommodate) but got a double room with no sofa bed, little room for a rollaway. Called desk, explained we’d have 3 adults by the next night. Front desk man said he’d provide a rollaway & check for bigger room in the AM. We said 3rd adult wasn’t there yet, so we’d check back in the AM. When we inquired the next day, things went SOUTH. I explained my situation to a blond, pregnant lady (didn't get her name) at the front, but she clearly thought I was making up a story. Upon finding out I booked on hotels.com, she emphasized that I used a "discount site" and wouldn’t help us. She said all big rooms were booked, a rollaway was against the fire code, but I could book another room at the same rate, and “even that’s HALF of what our rooms are going for.” So condescending! What’s worse, the assistant supervisor, Alex, suggested “lots of blankets” so I could "create a space." I asked, totally shocked, "You mean on the floor??" He said yes! My mom left to sleep on cousin’s couch. I almost checked out, but called the GM so he was aware. Greg was apologetic, offered a free room or upgrade to the king suite. Yes, the same suite the front desk lady said was "booked" and unavailable. Greg apologized the system would allow a double room to be booked for 5 people- he did a test reservation and got the same room. Not staying here again.

Dear Guest, I was disappointed to hear about the resolution our team member initially offered you as we normally would have upgraded you to a suite in order to accommodate your needs. Therefore, I apologize for the inconvenience we caused you and I hope that the upgrade I offered you for the remainder of your stay made for a more comfortable and enjoyable time. If your future travels should bring you to the Deer Park area, I hope that you will give us another opportunity to better serve you. Sincerely, Greg Kowalsky General Manager

Quality is slipping

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: Training and attention to details.
They were unwilling to honor my request for the room as stated in my HHonors profile. Had a number (6) of one stayers booked but not checked in for the rooms on the top floor that was my standard request. While that was a negative, having stayed at this hotel many times I notice the quality has gone down. Seems they have a large turnover of employees both at the front desk and maintenance staff.

Dear Guest, I apologize that we were unable to fulfill your room type request this time. We do our best to fulfill all guest requests however there are times when higher occupancy and guest stay patterns present a challenge and hinder our ability to do so. We hope to see you again soon. Fabulous hotel in March

We were in town for a wedding. Many out-of-towners at this hotel. We were all very impressed with the service, the front desk was exceptional, the rooms were neat and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the breakfast area was spectacular...very comfortable. Our grandson enjoyed the pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Outstanding Hotel

Outstanding Hotel. I highly recommend staying there. Bed was comfy and the room was extremely clean. The Front desk was extremely helpful. I asked what Restaurants where close by with good food. The young man at the front desk gave me a $10.00 off dinner voucher to a steakhouse. The food was excellent.
