The hotel is in the Paharganj area of Delhi - not the greatest but not the worst either. Quite lively: hence 3/5 (average). The hotel is quite nice - the reception is nice, the staircase is beautiful. The room is satisfactory as is the bathroom. improvements: the shower door does not close fully - as much as you try, water soaks the floor. On one of the days, the bed sheets was not changed - I sometimes test this and I can confirm that the bed sheets were not changed. As a final note, there were a few cockroaches present in the room - perhaps pest control may be required.

Do not drink hotel ‘filtered’ water
We had a 2 night stay at the Grand Godwin. We were told that the bottles of water in our room were filtered and both my wife and son drank some (I didn’t) both of them have had sickness for 2 days. We were in an Executive room. The shower had no pressure and was cold. We didn’t have a single warm shower, my wife ended up going down to our son’s room to take a warm shower. There wasn’t a bath mat and the floor gets very wet, I slipped and almost fell. We were disappointed that there was no window in the room as the window was blocked off and covered with curtains. It was akin to being in a box. The quilt cover and pillowcases had stains (which looked like blood) WiFi was awful. We used mobile data. The surrounding area is very busy and noisy at night. We took a stroll and 2 people stopped us and said “be careful, it’s not safe here for you “. I think that they were being helpful, rather than intimidating us. Staff varied in their helpfulness. The men on the door were pleasant and helped secure TukTuks etc, others were less interested in us as customers. The room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. We had tea on our first night and the dirty cups were still there when we checked out. After reading previous reviews we were hopeful of a better stay but were disappointed and therefore cannot recommend this hotel.

Would never recommend this hotel to anyone!
The condition of the hotel was terrible. Switching the A/C blew dust all over the room. There were loud noises in the middle of the night. Every time the door would close, the coving on the ceiling would shake, even when we closed it gently. They provided tea and coffee making facilities in the room with the standard two tea bags. However when we requested more, we were told we would be charged for it. We had to argue to get more. I have never been in a hotel that is stingy with tea and coffee supplies. Luckily we only paid for two nights, so subsequently we moved to a different much better hotel for the remainder of our stay.

We always stay at the Grand Godwin when in Delhi. The rooms are clean, modern and the staff give excellent service with a smile. Breakfast had many choices, European and Indian. Restaurant staff restocked food regularly.

Read the small print before booking
Good location for the station, but to us the hotel did not seem to match what it states it provides. Also advice before booking read the small print on policies, as they don't allow non married couples and to us it should be very clearly stated and not in the small print hidden unless you expand the field.

I booked rooms and requested side by side as I was travelling with family. Front desk manger told me rooms are not available side by side and have rooms on different floor, we were okay with that too. But found the rooms had twin beds instead of king beds as per booking. Then they miraculously found two rooms side by side on ground floor with king beds but that when the night mare started. The rooms are located on the side of Main Street on the out side and in between the rooms was hotels work area which was continuously busy with people walking in and out all night . At 1 am I asked them to move me to a different room as we cannot sleep then we were moved up to 3 rd floor. I would never recommend this hotel as - Front desk staff were very uncooperative They did not know what the definition of hospitality. Beds sheets and pillow cases were dirty and not replaced once people leave / change rooms. Only one towel provided per rooms. Towels are dirty and not washed properly. On checking in we were told breakfast was not available but on checking the booking vouched we found it was included. I would NEVE NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR ANY ONE

Overall a nice and comfortable stay at the Grand Godwin. Room is a bit more tired looking than it appears in the pictures but no big problem. Bed comfortable and room clean. WiFi was good. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We took the local Delhi tour which was a great way to see all the sights in the city without being intimidated by the craziness of Delhi. The driver was very friendly and helpful. The food in the hotel restaurant was very tasty and breakfast was a good selection too of Indian specialities and the normal toast, fruit, cereal etc. The road that the hotel is on is a little intimidating due to the amount of people hanging around outside but it is not scary after you get used to the Delhi atmosphere. Be wary of people trying to “help” you find your way places if walking, you will more than likely end up in their brothers shop or unofficial tourist centre. The manager was extremely helpful and clearly cares about the experience of his guests. He advised us about getting to the train station and scams to be wary of. He remembered what our agenda was from our initial discussion and greeted us every morning with advice for the day.

When Delhi was simmering in cold with night temperatures as low as 4 degrees centigrade the hotel staff ignored my request to provide heating in my room. I was forced to remain awake and shaking in cold. The lenin of the room was horribly untidy despite my request to the house keeping probably because they were not having clean white lenin & towels.

Good room size and facility was good . Bad location if you travel from abroad . Management was poor no communication between them. Supposed to get picked up from hotel . Nobody showed up. Excuse was they couldn’t track my flight . After so many argument agreed to drop us back to airport. But car conditions was ver poor . And ask for 9 person. Stil had to fit one person on our lap for 25 km .

Despite what the web site says, there is no roof top restaurant at this hotel. Instead, meals are taken at the Indian Grill on the ground floor of the Hotel Godwin Deluxe next door.

First of all, everything they offered at the hotel was way overpriced. I checked UBER from hotel to the airport and it was only 300 while they charged me 900 plus tips to the driver on the top of that. Moreover, the trip to go to Agra they offered was 7500 Rub while I found and chose only 5000Rub outside of the hotel. Second of all, Even if their website didn’t say anything about visitors, they didn’t even let me have anyone in my room Although I paid my room for two person, which was super unfair. Plus the attitude of stuff was so rude when I tried to bring my friend. It was so offensive. Finally, the rating was really bad there.1jpy =60,00Rub while the daily exchange rating website I saw says 1jpy=65.3rub. Everything about the price was something I never agreed with.
