“Neighborhood hotel, international clientele”

I am a world traveler who has made numerous trips to India over the years. Madonna is a smallish, Indian-style, neighborhood-based hotel. If you want an international standards hotel, on secluded, manicured grounds, you should go elsewhere. But if you want affordable, decent accommodation, in the heart of a thriving, centrally located neighborhood, with every transportation option just outside the door, stay here. You will experience the best of real India. The staff and the owner, Mr. Naresh Bhatia, are very helpful in answering your questions and making whatever arrangements that you need. If you accept that this is an Indian hotel, the staff and Bhatia will graciously respond to your rather silly (from the Indian perspective) questions. Finally, it is also worth noting that I felt comfortable at Madonna as a woman traveling alone. I was treated appropriately and I did not perceive that the staff felt that my presence was particularly odd.

“A clean comfortable hotel with good service”

The Hotel Madonna is a comfortable hotel about 10 minutes walk from the shopping district of Karol Bagh. It's been done up in a fairly modern fashion, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The owner proved to be very helpful when helping me book a train ticket. An altogether pleasant stay !

“Clean rooms and very nice people.”

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Madonna on and off during our 3 week trip around India. Tripathi, the night manager and all of the other gentlemen who work there were very kind and did all they could to make our stay a nice one. The hotel is modest, but the rooms are clean and comfortable.

“Pleasant surprise”

Good hotels in Delhi are expensive. Cheap hotels are can be disastrous. So with this premise, Hotel Madonna was a pleasant compromise and surprise. Couldn't ask for much more. Clean and comfortable (even if decor is a bit bizarre). Room service efficient and cheap. Food at hotel was always good quality (and we didn't get Delhi belly from it!!!). Staff were at first cold but actually this hid a very kind and helpful side. Street hotel is on is not too great, but gives an idea of Delhi life. However, it's full of taxis and rickshaws. Metro only 10 min walk away.

“Great Clean Comfortable Hotel”

I stayed at Madonna after two months of backpacking in budget guesthouses in India. I wanted a nicer place to unwind and relax before heading home. This is a great hotel, the room was big and comfy, totally clean with all you need. The service was also great and I had absolutely no problems. It's also well located near shopping and the Metro.

“I would highly recommend this hotel!”

I stayed at the Hotel Madonna for two nights in January 2007. I was nervous about choosing this hotel because it was only listed as a 2.5 stars, and I had been told never to stay at a hotel below 3 stars in India. When I arrived I realized that I had nothing to worry about - this hotel should be at least 3 stars, and it was much nicer than many of the 3 star hotels I stayed at in India. My room was a good size and very clean. The shower had hot water (something I didn't have in every hotel I stayed in in India). The room had a TV and internet access was available for free in the business center. The staff was very friendly. I was offered a free breakfast. The hotel restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner. The location seemed fine - although I didn't do much walking around the neighborhood. I took rickshaws and taxis to the places I wanted to go. The Hotel Madonna is approximately a 45 minute drive from the international airport and the price of a taxi to the airport was less than $10. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only drawback was price. I probably could have gotten a much less expensive hotel in Delhi and been ok. However, if you're not overly concerned about the price (and the price is incredibly reasonable compared to hotels in any U.S. or European city) & if you're looking for a clean, safe & comfortable hotel with a friendly staff I would highly recommend the Hotel Madonna.

“Pleasant stay”

In a great location - very Indian but very safe. Customers are well looked after and the hotel is clean and tidy. Always lots of staff , some friendlier than others! What ever you want is no problem and there is a good facility for providing local friendly taxis though the drivers don't all speak English but that just makes the experience more exciting. Metro is nearby and clean and safe. Would stay there again but it makes sense not to arrange anything until you get there just because the hotel is very good at organising events. Breakfast is prepared off site so there can be a wait but it was very nice and reasonable. Good base for exploring Delhi. Don't get your hopes up about using the free Internet though! Slow slow and then some!! We had a great driver for two days and saw more of Delhi then we would have without him. Ask for Deepak , he was lovely and the lunch stops were great. Loads of ATM's across the street to and a good supermarket. Travellers Tip Karol Bargh market is full of bargains! Don't bother with other tourist markets! This is the cheapest Try using Bimuno before you go - no Delhi belly!

“Hotel Madonna is a good choice”

The Hotel Madonna for a mid-range Delhi hotel is in my experience a good choice, with very helpful and friendly staff. This is the second time I have stayed here. I was again picked up from the airport free of charge at 03:00 in the morning - very efficient. My previous complaint about having no wireless internet is no more, as this is now also a free-of-charge feature of the hotel. The manager even has a spare GSM card for emergency guest use, should the connection fail (which it did not do during my six day stay). Importantly the hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the metro and 5 stops from the station Rajiv Chowk/Connaught Place, which means that one can get around easily. Frank, UK

“Decent hotel, 30+ min from airport”

The Hotel Madona was clean enough by Indian standards and had HBO tv and wireless, but no air conditioning. It is very small, but the staff are polite and helpful. I stayed there on a layover, and a rented taxi driver greeted me at the airport and drove me there free of charge, but I had to pay my way back to the airport. The hotel was advertised as 15 minutes away from the airport, but it is more like 30 with no traffic.

“Not a bad hotel”

This is an OK hotel - especially as it is only about 5min walk to the Metro. The room I was in was adequate for the two nights I stayed - towels weren't the cleanest but this appears to be the norm in Delhi. I only had breakfast (no evening meals) which was nothing special, but adequate. I would however go back to this hotel.
