This is first time we stayed in Royal plaza. Great location, good customer service and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well.

Full of disappointment

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: The lobby. Hardwood in bedroom.
Cons: almost everything. from the light in the lobby, which flashes all the time, to the window curtain in the room.
Location: nothing near.
The hotel is in a very good location, next Shangri-La. Hotel staffs acted very friendly, but they take for granted to rip off people. They claim the street exchange rate was Rs58 - 1US, but actually it's easily 60-1. They claim there's no way to get a ticket for train travel, but actually it's not that difficult to get same day train ticket. The lobby is very nice. Mabel settings. But room is very old and smell of not being used. It takes a long time for shower to have hot water. Room is smelly. Bed sheet is stained. The towel is so used up like that it has holes. Wonder how it got 5 stars, not even 3 star quality.

Nice hotel close to Connaught Place.

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: One can get good food and cleanliness in many places, but the friendliness of the staff was remarkable.
Cons: The water draining from the bath was a bit slow, though not blocked. A minor issue which can be looked into.
Location: It was within walking distance of the Connaught Place for shopping.I understand that it is also close to Janpath and to other places of interest.
Comfortable and clean room with good A/C.The decor was pleasing: Perhaps a taste of Italy! Each and every member of the staff from the reception to the dining hall was very good: polite, helpful and friendly. The food was good and prices very reasonable. There was a large selection of food to satisfy everyone's taste:From dishes of north India to dishes of the south. Egg, toast, tea and coffee for those who prefer light. The lady in the Tea-room in the lounge served very good Darjeeling tea and fresh pastries for guests who had come to meet us.To be cheeky, may I ask if it would be possible to serve brewed Darjeeling leaf tea to remind some of us of our bygone days in India!

Very convenient location in Central Delhi

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff...very accomodating
Cons: Steam room was moldy smelling, pool could be kept cleaner (murky water)
Location: Conveniently located near major shopping and museums. Cheap, easy, and comfortable to get around by metro
Nice upscale, slightly dated hotel with swimming pool and decent spa facilities. Located in safe, clean area, very near Patel Chowk Metro Station...4-5 minutes walk. 15 minute walk to Connaught Place/Janpath shopping areas. Very clean rooms, comfy bed, plenty of free mineral water in room (a must), nice variety at free breakfast buffet. Fast WiFi, but quite expensive.

Excellent hotel but something is missing

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Everything was great, friendly staff, facilities worked as advertised (the ones that were available)
Cons: Wifi coverage could be improved, didn't cover with good signal on all rooms. Also, I believe that WIFI is a must in these times, should be free
Location: India Gate and the parliament
The hotel was great. But some of the facilities are missing, the club is under construction, the same happens to the bar in the roof, which is also under construction. So, even when the hotel is great, these facilities were missing according to what I booked.
