“Good value for the money”
Having traveled to this part of the world several times and having stayed at 5-star hotels that cost in excess of $300 per night, I did not know what to expect. But luckily, it turned to be quite a positive experience. The staff was helpful and so was the lobby concierge. The only downside to the hotel is the general area around it. While it is close to the rail road station, the area around it is congested and with a lot of transiet population and for someone not used to this part of the world, could be a challenge. But if you look past it, great hotel, good service, personal concierge, and an excellent experience.
“Not impressed”
Our first impression driving down the street in a taxi was we did not like the area. The area is old and dirty, but many hotels to choose from for any budget. The desk clerk told us we were at the wrong hotel. A kind gentleman from the tour desk who could speak English straightened out the misunderstanding. Checking in was quick and efficient When entering the room our first impression was the ugly sight of very dirty walls. Looking at the room carefully and trying to overlook the dirty walls, the room was quite nice. Window covering were nice, bamboo type which fit the windows appropriately.. A small fridge is in the room, but also dirty. The sheets were dirty or stained enough the we would not accept this. The sheets were changed immediately. Water pressure is excellent. All taps and shower are in good working order. The bathroom was clean except around the window. No hot water at 6 a.m. Our room faced the road. Very noisy all through the night. The air conditioner is mounted low, blowing on the bed. A chair was placed in front of the air conditioner to reflex the cool air from the bed. A fan mounted on the ceiling is quiet and firmly attached to the ceiling. The hallway was dirty. Flat screen television set in the room. Parking on the street. No restaurant. Food is ordered outside of the hotel. Room service is excellent.
“Its decent”
This is a decent hotel located close to New Delhi Railway station. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. This is definitely not one of the best places to stay as I am sure there are better hotels in New Delhi, however it does provide a reasonable value to the money spent.
“I'd rather stay elsewhere”
The room was acceptably clean. (Others from our group had mice). Rooms with a view to the street are extremely noisy from 4 am to 1 am. Worn out linen. (Just one sheet -with holes- and a thick fleece blanket. towels had a suspicious grey hue. Bed was ok. ) Pahar Ganj area is way too noisy, crowded and run down.
“The rooms are basic, but very dirty, In India every hotel is but the rate then is high”
The service in the reception in good and every one is willing to help you,it was one of five hotels I was in Delhi and it was the second worst option I got, it is really dirty and as they are not used to clean you can not ask them more, the sheets and the blanket are not what you want near you, in case of staying there, it is recomended to take your own sheets and as usual your own toilet paper because they give you very little one.
“No complimentary airport transportation!”
The hotel description says airport transportation is complimentary. This is no longer the case. We were charged an extra $10 for this service. We also had to pay an extra $10 for air condition we thought we had already booked for. We moved next door to the Ajanta the next day and got a better room for half the price
