Nice hotel, mediocore & expensive add-ons

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: gym, decor
Cons: free wifi better food decent cocktails a balcony with chairs to sit on at night
I stayed one night at this hotel to treat myself after being in no-electircity and cold showers for a while. It was a lot of pomp without too much subtance, though there were a few good things, but I felt that all the addons were pricey The property and hotel is palatial, prettier than it's pictures. But given the price I paid for the room (85), I didn't expect to have to pay so much for: wifi (169 RPS/hr), breakfast (880 RPS). The 880 RPS was for the buffet breakfast, but eggs and a coffee would have cost the same, so I went for the buffet, which wasn't great. I had better street food in India. The eggs were from powder and runny, and the utapam was stale. I would have happily paid for the choice of something simpler and better. For dinner I had crostinis and a martini that cost 1400 RPS. The martini was poor (mostly olive juice), but the crositini was good. The aiport pickup was 1500, which is high, but the person was waiting for me with a sign and my flight was delayed. So this was a nice assurance. The gym is free for all hotel guest, and it was nice and functioning with ellipticals, weights, nautalus, bikes and treadmills. Overall, the decor is lovely, but I expected more services beyond decor, e.g. free wifi, free, a good breakfast, and some decent cocktails.

Excellent 5 star hotel.

Pros: The luxury feel of the hotel and the good food.
Cons: WiFi in the hotel and service in the pool area.
Location: It is right next door to a typical Indian Mall with a range of shops and market stalls.
This has all you would expect from a 5 star hotel in India. Staff fall over themselves to help you which to a person who isn't use to it can sometimes be a bit too much. Food was excellent and the breakfast choices great. Rooms were of a very high calibre, and kept very clean. The area it is set in is typical to India. Walk outside of the hotel doors and you step into a different world, which isn't necessarily a negative thing.

Comfortable Stay

Posted Jan 20, 2014
I stayed at Jaypee Vasant Continental for a week in December 2013. The stay was extremely comfortable, and the staff was very courteous. The only thing that I did not like was that they were supposed to provide me a fresh fruit tray each day of my stay, but it was provided only on the first day and not thereafter. I did express this concern to the staff at the front desk and was told that it has to be requested each day. Other than this, overall it was a pleasant experience.

It was alright but not up to the mark

Posted Nov 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Don't get me wrong, it is a decent enough hotel and I thought I bought it on a deal for 130$. It was probably par price considering the hotel was just about ok and not as well taken care of as one might expect. First, the entrance is not very clear. Upon entrance, it is hard to find a registration desk. These guys have done away with that and have office type desks where couple of hotel employees help you check in with their laptop. It seemed like make-shift arrangement. The room felt nice and cozy. The visible metal pipes in the bathroom were rusted. In general, it felt slightly dated. We ate at their Indian restaurant, which was expensive enough but service was extremely slow. The servers thought we were there to spend a lot of time and ensured that our evening went to waste by spending more than 2 hours. It took us at least 25 minutes just to get the check after asking multiple times. The waiters just wouldn't budge or hide somewhere. The bar was converted to dance club for the night, which we had no interest in, so we were just off to our beds after the dinner. Overall, it is alright for one night stay. It is not that close to airport 5-6 kilometers, but that can be a bit challenging if you do not know the directions. After all, it is in Delhi.

Nice hotel, well located in a good area.

The hotel was nice. We booked 2 rooms and the lobby manager Cozy upgraded us to a suite which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were courteous and very attentive to all our needs. The room was very comfy and well serviced. The only negative was that the pool was dirty and not temperature controlled as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was very ordinary. However overall stay was great and we would use it again.

An excellent hotel

Posted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: The overall atmosphere and the hotel's interior are pleasing. The outdooor facilities (pool, garden) are amazing. The rooms are comfortable.
Cons: Regular maintenance, especially of bathrooms, has to be improved. It is shocking to see how things like that become worn down in India.
Location: The hotel is a good alternative to the usual airport hotels. By taxi, I never spent more than 20 min to get to the aiport.
Stayed many times at the Jaypee Vasant and never been disappointed. The hotel's restaurant (EGGspectations) offers all type of food, some excellent international dishes without Indian taste;-) Internet works good with a secure connection. Fees for it are decent (compared to other hotel chains). If you need a taxi (e.g. to the airport), ask for a local one. The hotel's limousine will cost a fortune compared to that.
