“banyans and mynahs”

Oberoi Maidens Hotel was just lovely - a haven of coolness and efficiency after battling with the Delhi heat and crowds. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, for instance confirming railway bookings; meals (paid extra) included pleasant Western breakfast and beautifully spiced Indian food the rest of the day. The rooms are huge. The buildings dating from early nineteenth century are very atmospheric and well maintained. There's a huge banyan tree in the garden and lots of birds.

“Lovely British taste of Delhi”

We were very impressed with everything about this hotel. Having not been to Delhi before, the drive from the airport was shocking. Allow at least an hour to/from airport through the, what we found to be normal, tons of traffic. All international flights arrive/depart from airport at night so you arrive tired and leave tired. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bottled water was readily available and cold (unusual). Breakfast was plentiful featuring indian and continental foods. Staff was friendly (truly) and helpful. Grounds are lovely. VERY British. Former military offices. Take the time to explore, it's worth it. Monkeys and lots of birds. Pool area is something from the 40's but very well maintained. Would return in a heartbeat. Location was not bad for exploring both old and new Delhi. It was very hot but hotel and room was sufficiently cool to escape heat and humidity. Don't expect ice. This is the true gold of India. A bit pricy for India as a whole, but high value compared to Europe/States travel.

“Tranquil luxury and elegance”

A very spacious room, perfectly clean, tastefully decorated. A feeling of tropical Indian atmosphere in the hotel with white columns, marble, lush gardens - though we came in cold December. Very comfortable bed. Great restaurant - everything in white marble -where we had a delicious Indian dinner buffet. Within walking distance from the Metro station; completely safe also at night or you take a cycle rikscha for the 100 meters to the hotel. A heritage hotel, at lower price but certainly not with less comfort than the other heritage hotel directly at the main place in the center ( the Imperial).

“Great hotel, excelent food!”

My only suggestion will be to give a better ambiance to the out doors, meaning the inside garden and the swimming pool, they could be a very relaxing and appealing place after a busy day in Delhi.

“Loved it”

This hotel has such a nice feel about it, it's staff are friendly and helpful without being overbearing, the frontage of the building is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, the pool temperature is just right. I just loved it! It is a bit of a distance from the attractions of Delhi but it is literally minutes from the Civil Lines metro station and then a very short train ride to Connaught Place or the Red Fort at only 9 Rs a pop! Loved it!!

“My home in Delhi”

We spent very nice time there, surrounding much green and you meet wild animals(peacocks, monkeys, snells)in the huge and beautiful garden.) What really impressed me was that no one accepted tips for their services. They seem to be very proud of their jobs or the hotel itself.I'm very sure to stay there again.

“Couldn't have selected a better hotel!!”

If you are looking for a hotel that can combine the colonial architecture and modern ammenities, Maidens Hotel is the place to stay. When you arrive to the hotel, you feel like arriving to a early 20th century palace. Throughout the hotel, the architecture and interior design is fully colonial. However, once you are in the room, you are surrounded of excellent accomodations. This is what I call as simple elegance. Besides the friendly and oustanding customer service made my stay in Delhi quite a memory to keep. too bad my stay wasn't that long, but making plans to come back and visit ASAP.

“A character hotel in Delhi”

This is an old hotel (1890s), well maintained, with attractive, large rooms, that provides a good and friendly service. The Curzon restaurant is reminiscent of the days of the Raj, when the Maidens was at the heart of Delhi. Now, it is a bit out of the way, and not an ideal location for who has business in New Delhi. But for the traveller who will spend time in Old Delhi, the Maidens is a lovely place to be based in.

“Upgraded!”

This historic hotel is very charming and the service is impeccable. The main drawback is the location, rather far away from any of the tourist sites of Delhi, all requiring a taxi. My room (an upgraded suite) was extremely comfortable.

“No balcony rooms”

A lovely clean hotel. Staff very helpful. Ensure your taxi driver knows the location as it took me 2 hours from the airport. Also beware that no rooms have a balcony. The first room I was shown had no outside windows and was very dark but the staff were happy to move me to a room that at least had an external window. It didn't make up for balcony but it was better than nothing.
