“WHATS NOT TO LIKE”
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL FACILITY WELL LOCATED IN CENTRAL NEW DELHI. OUR ROOM ON THE 25TH FLOOR WAS CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND LUXURIOUS - NICE AMENITIES, ETC. THE POOL IS GREAT AND THE RESTAURANT HAS A VERY NICE MENU. SERVICE IS RESPONSIVE WITHOUT BEING OVERBEARING. WE BOOKED TWO ADDITIONAL DAYS AT THE END OF OUR TOUR OF INDIA AND WERE VERY HAPPY TO RETURN TO THE LALIT.
“Lalit New Delhi - Definitely Recommended”
This is a very nice hotel and actually a good deal to some of the other options. In any major city in India, the Western or Western-style hotels are overpriced. However, they're a necessity, especially for business travel. The Lalit is not the greatest and not the cleanest (compared to Western standards), but highly recommended for New Delhi.
“lovely hotel”
Lallit is in New Delhi and is a lovely hotel ,rooms are a good size and very comfortable, restaurant is good with both buffet and a la carte both indian and western food a lovely heated pool and a gym. Will stay there again on next trip to Delhi
“Very Good, But not Fantastic. Here's why...”
*Make sure they put you in the remodeled, upscale section** You'll know it if they don't, it's dated. We stayed in new section. Nice teak wood, comfy bed, nice bathroom. Staff incredibly polite, yet S L O W. Did I mention s l o w? Check-out was painful, nearly 20-minutes and we didn't have incidentals. Get ready to spend 15-minutes just exchanging money. I will echo what others have said about concierge. Worthless. It's too long to write here, but it was like an episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", cuz it sure did. Restaurant and morning buffet are good, not great. High praise for Asheesh at front desk. If only they were all like him! Final words: Then again, this IS India, and it will feel like an oasis compared to the chaos etc greeting you every time you walk out the front door.
“Definitely a keeper!”
The Lalit New Delhi is a renovated property previous called the Intercontinental Grand. We stayed at the same hotel in Nov 2004. On this visit our room was very comfortable and house keeping staff very attentive and accommodating. We were provided fresh flowers each day and bed turned down service included chocolates etc. The buffet breakfast was excellent with mixture of continental and Indian cuisine. The staff even made breakfast items made to order. The disco was too loud for us so we avoided it. The lobby was very impressive and staff friendly. All in all it was a great experience. We had two room on two separate floors and adult daughters experiences were similar as expressed here. We will definitely consider staying there again when we visit New Delhi.
“Delhi's Lalit Hotel quite impressive”
Western clean and this is no small feat. Great service and an excellent restaurannt. The swimming pool area and the rear patio were unexpected features that we greatly enjoyed. This relatively new hotel is going to be a very popular distination as word spreads about it's impeccable service and great character. Only a 10 minute walk to Jan Path market area.
“Rain delay”
My flight was delayed and my arrival time postponed to 1 AM from midnight. My room was available though I did not call them. The place was very modern and the shower head was plush with the ceiling. The floor was made of teak wood and marble the bed was comfortable. I would give a 5 out of five. The check out time was delayed because they have to get the restaurant bill was not ready which made my delay at the airport by another 15 minutes. They kept asking me how was my stay and I should choose them if I stay in Delhi for another day. I was able to catch another filght.
“Great experience”
Very good experience. D
“Terrible service in a good looking hotel and room”
Hotel upon entering looked good, but the good part ended as soon as we got to the check-in desk. Bads: - 30 minutes to check-in (Checked in at 5 pm) - Completely useless concierge. They asked us to go check if places were open, instead of calling and checking - Room service did not understand English, would bring something completely different from what was requested - Biggest problem is with staff training, they are not trained properly to provide the service one expects from a good hotel Goods: - Nice looking hotel - Modern, comfortable room
“Very disappointed”
I was very unhappy with the concierge service, which is way too poor for a 5-star hotel. I had to delay my departure for the airport because they could not find somebody to fix hot water in my bathroom. I had to call the concierge service 5! times, it took them 40 minutes to send the right person. WIll not come back.
