Great hotel in heart of Delhi / good value

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Location, rooms, free wifi, free water, breakfast
The breakfast spread w as wonderful with huge variety. They even make doses for you. Sometimes you may see traces of yellow water but they give you unlimited bottled water. The front desk was extremely courteous and helpful - call out to Anshul.

Best experience of my several visits

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Location, Food, Service staff, Cleanliness, Rooms, and everything else
Cons: Taxi service, TV channels
Location: Very good location, heart of Delhi, few steps away from CP so you can shop and have best Delhi food there, and there are few very good lounges around
I went to see my wife on her birthday, and had a really good time at the hotel. Its location is among its best features. 5 min walk from CP. 1 min from Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and were always quick to respond to any requests. The buffet breakfast was really of superior quality and taste, but make sure you are not very late, they close it around 10:30-11am; With nearly everything next to perfection, there is always a chance to improve. You only get a very limited TV channels with no premium international sports channel and one last thing the Hotel taxi is a bit overly expensive as compared to the other cab services available.... Overall a very good stay and will definitely recommend this place.

Stay at the Metropolitan & Spa Hotel

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The luxuriousness, ambience, courtesy and location.
Cons: The cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and food counters.
Location: The location is perfect, central New Delhi, making travel in any direction making it equidistant in all directions. Convenient for business visits.
Pros: The location is fantastic, centre of New Delhi and all places are equidistant towards any direction. The hotel is luxurious and the staff is very inviting and courteous to all your needs and are always on their toes. Service is good, the ambience is even better. The spa therapy was really relaxing after a whole days work. Worth the stay. Cons: The food lacked a bit of fun in the flavours. Its was good but was a bit monotonous. And not good sign, I found insects in the food, once in the buffet and second time in the desert showcase counter, which is just outside their restaurant opposite to the reception. They can keep a better on their cleanliness and hygiene as it does matter.

Nice hotel kind of dated!

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: The staff! The staff made you feel like royalty. They were genuinely kind and concerned about making your stay enjoyable.
Cons: The decor of the hotel and the method in which the wireless internet can be used.
Location: The location is secure and in an neighbourhood area.
The staff at the hotel was excellent, extremely polite and attentive. The hotel facility is dated, looks like from the 70s or 80s, but still comfortable.

Best Service Everywhere in the hotel

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Service, service service! i.e. staff at the hotel
Cons: plumbing. One other nit is that the hotel has a spa but not beauty salon.
Location: its central, there is market nearby where you can get anything - fresh fruits, passport photos, hair salon, meals, pastries etc etc
The best thing about this hotel is Service, from doorman to front desk to room service to restaurant. Esp the restaurant, the manager Samir Behl was always cheerful and so was his staff, i guess it starts with good leadership. The staff was very attentive. this is the only hotel i have seen anywhere in the world where when you ask for service they come in a couple of minutes maximum, essentially time it takes them to come from whereever they are in the hotel to your room. Room cleaners are very efficient, polite and always happy to accomodate you. All the staff made our two week stay so pleasant that we felt at home. The only negative issue we had was the faucet in the washroom, whenever you turned it on after a while you got orange color water. The manager assured us that they knew about it and were working on finding a solution. He was very apologetic and asked us everyday how our stay was.

The other side of Delhi.

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: There were a lot of pigeons around the pool area, so the staff were constantly cleaning up the pigeon droppings.
Location: India Gate, Connaught Place, Old Fort, heaps of high end establishments ie restaurants and bars.
My partner and I booked a 14 day tour throughout India and decided to spend our last two days in Delhi in a up market hotel (we were unsure if the actually existed in Delhi by the end of our tour!). This place definitely hit the spot in every category and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay to the point that we didn't want to leave the hotel. Staff, facilities, comfort etc were 10/10.
