Happy Aussies

Pros: Easy access. Roomy. Reliable courtesy shuttle. Accessible outdoor areas. Guest laundry.
Cons: Smelly cigarette disposal bins. No fridge or microwave.
Grateful for fan as it was very hot. Air conditioning would be better!

Average hotel

Posted Jun 17, 2013
Pros: The setting was very nice and peaceful, and the mountain views to the west was very nice.
Cons: Condition of the rooms was 'okay'; I would suggest some updates. More handicapped pkg spots, please - there was only one for the entire hotel.
Location: Very close to Denali Park; on hillside; shuttles to many activites; not a lot of parking for personal cars.
This hotel isn't necessarily bad; it's just not that great. It's in average shape and the room was average for what you would expect at a lower-price hotel. However, we paid through the nose for the room and expected somewhat more, even in the inflated-price region of Denali Ntl Park. The setting was on a hillside, beautiful, and very natural, which was peaceful. The hotel reminded me more of a backpackers motel. The room itself had a torn screen door and wasp in the room when we arrived; luckily we saw it and killed it before either of us got stung. One issue for my husband and I was that he has a bad leg and can't do hills or stairs. If that's the case for you, you might consider elsewhere, as this hotel consists of multiple smaller buildings of about 20 rooms or so each, and each building requires you to walk up/down small hills or stairs. The view was nice from the restaurant area and the dinner food was good; we did not eat breakfast there.

Looks can be deceiving

Posted May 25, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms were out-dated.
Location: There is easy access to Denali Park.
The website was deceiving. They pictured the new looking lobby and areas in the lodge. The rooms were not anywhere near new, actually they are very old. There is no security in the hotel rooms. Anyone could access the building where your room was located. No luggage carts were available. The location is good in relation to Denali Park.

Ok but lacks facilities.Staff friendly and helpful

Posted Sep 12, 2012
Pros: Location
Cons: No food in evening
Location: Good position just off main road through town.Great views (from most rooms).
Booked a room with balcony, but were given one without at first.Staff did sort it out eventually, and were generally helpful. No food at hotel in evening,so had to go into town, but at least there were regular shuttle buses which were also willing to drop us elsewhere to pick up connections. A convenient place to stay, but let down by lack of facilities.

Very good hotel in Denali

Posted Aug 29, 2012
Cons: No wi-fi in the rooms.
Location: It's a nice location on the hill overlooking Denali, but it was a bit hard to find - more signs on the road would help locate it.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was nice and friendly.

A Little Disappointed

Posted Aug 8, 2012
Pros: Convience of location to a small shopping/restuarant area off of the highway.
Cons: Narrow stairway and funky smell coming from the side area of our hotel.
Location: A very nice spot for quietness and scenery.
We had asked to have a first floor room reserved for us and found out when we got there, we had a room on the second floor. This would not have mattered too much but we had to carry all of our luggage to the second floor using a very narrow stairway. The hotel offered to take our luggage up to the room which was nice of them but what bothered us the most was to find out they give the first floor rooms to the people who come in on the buses from the cruiselines. We were not too pleased to find this out since as stated above we had requested a first floor room which we booked in early March for a July visit.

Very nice hotel.

Very nice and clean facility, great views, attentive staff. We were there in a slow period and the some of the services were reduced temporarily, but it is easy to get to nearby restaurants and shopping and Denali National Park.

Nice hotel at a nice price

Good value for the price; very clean, comfortable, had all essential amenities plus available washer and dryers. Outstanding views.
