Windy Healy Motel

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Vicinity to Otto Lake
Hotel is 10 miles north of Denali park, we booked it because we had won the road lottery and it was reasonably priced compared to the lodges at the park entrance.

excellent location to Denali for the cost

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The staff were great and the location for the price
Cons: The landscape could have been better visually but the climate could be the problem. A few more trees would improve it greatly.
Location: It was situated just off the highway and easy to find. It was about a mile to a great little pub called The 59th State.
It was approximately twelve miles to the entrance to Denali NP and was very reasonably priced with everything you would want. The staff were very helpful from the outset ( I had emailed twice from Australia) and we were not disappointed when we arrived. Our room was clean, comfortable and very warm (it was freezing on the day we arrived). We had free wi-fi, fridge, microwave and hairdryer so everything you needed for a great stay

Beautiful location and picturesque scenary. But, unclean bed sheet and blanket. Very surprised to see an envelope written 'house keeping tip' placed next to a TV.

Friendly staff, well-priced snacks.

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, well-priced snacks. Quiet sleep.
Cons: It's okay.
Location: It's in Healy, about 15-30 minutes from Denali National Park, depending on construction delays.
Friendly staff, well-priced snacks. It's basically a motel.

Nice hotel with reasonable price

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Cons: Wifi signal can only be accessed in the lobby. The wifi signal in other place is too weak to be detected.
We booked this hotel nearby Denali National Park, which is less than 10 miles north of the park. The room we booked is spacious with two queen size beds. It is quite clean with nice conditions given the fact that it is in a remote area. BTW, the hotel is in the north of the park. There is quite some construction activities on the road. You may experience long delay on the way there when traveling north. The construction only happened in the north of Denali National Park, and it has happened all summer in 2014.

One night stay in Denali Park

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: rooms were updated, had coffee makers and refrigerators, plenty of blankets and pillows.
Cons: they had constrcution issues going on, so we booked a rafting company located just down the street...worked out great.
Location: The Outdoor center located on the same road was perfect for rafting, canoeing, or kayaking.
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night with our son visiting from Miami, and a neice and her friend from Ohio. We only had one night booked, but we enjoyed our stay, and found the hotel accomadations perfect for the short time we were there. Hope all the construction is over the next time we visit!!

Functional

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The train cars were a nice photo op - but you can't stay in them yourself.
Location: Denali Park is about 15 minutes south (depending on traffic due to the road construction). But, that should all be taken care of this year (2014).
It is old, but very functional and reasonably comfortable. And, with the park and scenery, you don't spend much time in the hotel anyway. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator and a comfortable bed.
