newly remodeled facility but major problem.

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Very little except the view.
Cons: Attitude of owner and upkeep of the facility until it actually closes for the season.
Location: Denali Park 20 minutes away
Lodging was in individual cabins. The cabins were newly remodeled and nicely decorated. Our cabin wreaked of raw sewage. When we contacted one of the owners, he was extremely condescending and informed us that this wasn't an urban environment and they had to use septic tanks. Our cabin's septic was overflowing and because it was the end of season, he couldn't do anything about it. We had pre-paid for two nights and had to stay. By the time we left, all of our clothes smelled like sewage and had to be washed, and we were nauseated from the smell. I have both a septic system at home and an RV holding tank, neither of which has ever smelled this bad. The other issue was with the restaurant. Half of the menu items were unavailable because it was end of season. This was understandable but disappointing since we were staying while they were still open, and we were a long way from town.

Cabin in the woods

Very neat & cozy place. For a wilderness setting it's quite adequate. Nice restaurants in the areas. Space is just enough for you don't travel to Denali to be enjoying room stay.

Good place to stay close to Denali National Park

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Denali National Park
I was only looking for a place to stay for couple of nights and the Perch hotel was ideal. The room is small but good for the night stay.

Nice but unfriendly

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: good location
Cons: treatment of customers
I do not know whether the demand is more than the supply. But this is certainly no reason for the owner of the resort to be very unfriendly and somewhat rude. Other than this the lodge was good.

A rustic place to stay near Denali

Posted Jul 31, 2014
This is a very rustic and fun place to stay if you want the full Denali experience for a reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent and everything you need is there. It's unusual but very enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Wonderful...quaint, warm, clean, cozy cabin with a queen size bed and a loft with a twin bed, small bathroom, but in the cabin. Not a dry cabin like many you will find in the area. Quiet area, located right next to great pizza pub within walking distance. Amazing brunch at the Perch restaurant the next morning. Highly recommend.
