Wonderful cabin experience along with sweet staff!Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: the location is perfect!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
Location: If you have more time you could take a bus ride. There were a few hikes. We went on one by the river where we were able to park our car.
My husband & two adult children came to Alaska & had the best trip ever. The cabin was so much fun & had everything we needed. The check in staff gave great ideas of things to do in our limited amount of time & really seemed to take an interest in us. We went in a plane over Mt. McKinley & landed on a glacier! Across the street from this inn are wonderful shops & some fun restaurants as well.

Close to the National ParkPosted Aug 9, 2013
Pros: Spacious rooms and great food
Cons: Advertisement about this resort could have been more precise
Location: Denali National Park, nice mom and pop shops to eat and shop
Expedia advertises that it contains one twin bed but the room has two twin beds. It's a 2 bed room with a shared bathroom. Room was clean and neat. The resort has great breakfast and dinner options(for vegetarians/vegans too). You can also book your local tours via the resort. Overall, I wouldn't just say I liked this place but I loved this place.

I was pleasantly surprised! It had been a long time since I was there and the room was spacious with a little patio to enjoy the outdoors.

Great Location in the Middle of NaturePosted Jul 11, 2013
Pros: Good overall experience
Cons: Morning breakfast needs to be improved.
Location: Tons of outdoor activities. We recommend hicking in the National Park and the white water rafting down the canyon.
Cabin style buildings with ample separate rooms with two double beds ideal for a party of three or four people. Great service and unbeatable location. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner, nevetheless we found the breakfast very expensive and limited.

Nice hotel in close to the WACPosted Jul 8, 2013
Pros: good location
Cons: size of beds
Location: close to everything there is to do in denali, like ATV,kayaking or the shuttle into denali.
There are only a couple of hotels in the Denali area and this one probably is the biggest. They even have a shuttle for transporting you from your cabin to the front desk. Cabin itself was very cozy for 4 people. There were two beds in two rooms. The beds were a little too small for two people though.

Pass on this placePosted Jun 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The McKinley Chalet Resort is not a resort, it's more like a camp or youth hostel. It's awful. And it's filled with people who are on tours, so there is always a crowd of people getting on and off of buses. The rooms are down a very, very steep hill that's nearly impossible to climb. Pass on this place.

OK but room disappointingPosted Jun 9, 2013
The grounds are nice and well kept and they have great shuttle service to Denali Park. Unfortunately our room was really small and was pretty much just a place to crash. We asked at the desk and they put us in an upgraded room which was a little better because it actually had a table and seating area. I wouldn't stay again.

less than expectedPosted Jun 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
While there are some newer areas, they reserve those for their tour groups and the rooms they will give you as an independent traveler are out of date with uncomfortable beds and nasty decor. Not sure there is a better alternative for the money but it is not as nice as it looks on the website.

My room was filthy!!!Posted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
As a local Alaskan, I was really surprised/disappointed with how dirty my room was. Upon check in there was hair in the shower drain, back of the toilet, and hair between the sheets of BOTH beds. Also water marks all over shower and around sink. There were no real sign that this room was cleaned before we checked in.
