Bare bones room

Posted Jul 24, 2014
No closets , not even a hook to hang your clothes. Paper thin walls. Basic bathroom, no counters, 1 small poorly lit mirror over a 2x2 counter that includes the sink. No decor in room, felt like barracks. Staff was rude. Also, wanted to charge me $20 extra for 3rd person in room.

Good hotel, but WiFi only at main lobby

Posted Jul 21, 2014
The location was very good and convenient for Densli NP and shops/restaurants. Only small issue was that WiFi was not available at the guest room.

Great hotel...nice bar and restaurant

Posted Jul 20, 2014
This is a fine hotel...with good facilities located only about 10 minutes north of the Park entrance. Easy nice drive. Lots of restaurants and shops right across the street. I would stay there again.

Great location! The baggage service from the Alaska Railroad to the hotel and the shuttle bus was a convenience we hadn't expected. The room with the additional space of a separate living room was also unexpected. We loved being close to the river. We also enjoyed the variety of restaurants and shops across the highway which was easy to cross by the traffic light. For those who can hike, there's a lovely bike path and trail that goes to the park, about a thirty minute walk away.

Denali Park Hotel

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable and clean. They provide transportation via shuttle most anywhere you want to go and that is included in the price.
Cons: It would be nice if breakfast was included for the price.
Location: Lots to do in the area. River rafting, shows, shopping, Denali flightseeing, widerness adventures and hiking. Most people take the 8 hour bus tour.
Beautiful hotel with comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet setting. Seems to be very overpriced for one night. Does not include breakfast. In all fairness--availability is limited for hotels in the summer and they need to make money then because all hotels are closed from early Fall and through the winter.

Tourist trap

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Make sure the rooms are ready on time and provide a free shuttle to and from Denali national park.
Location: Denali national park
We checked into our room at 4:00pm (this is the check in time) and the room was still not ready in fact none of the rooms on that floor were ready. It appeared that no one was working to get the rooms cleaned. Instead of apologizing the person at the front desk blamed the other staff for checking us into the room when in fact we were there after 4:00 and the rooms should have been ready! If you are looking for a tourist trap this is the place for you and expect to open your wallet to pay big money for anything you are hoping to purchase.

Great location, right on the river

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Cons: Did not like the shuttle to the room, would prefer to park by the room . A bit of a hassle especially in the rain.
Location: Denali. What else needs to be said!
Nice location, clean, helpful staff, fair price, shuttle pickups

Kind of disappointing...

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Expedia
Cons: Parking, Internet as advertised would be a good start.
We were excited to finally get to Denali, and then things were somewhat disappointing after that. The front desk seemed like it was the first day of opening and seemed disjointed when trying to radio housekeeping to find out if our room was ready even though it was after check in time. They advertised internet access but in reality it's only in main lodge area. You can't park where you are staying, so if you leave something in your car, you have to wait for a shuttle to take you back up to the too small parking lot at the top of the hill. There is no AC so we were warm all night. Then when I checked out, I expected someone to ask me about my stay, but not a peep. No one asked anything. The room was nice and clean and the lodge was clean and neat, but the cons outweighed the pros for this one. It was too expensive to leave feeling like this unfortunately.

Very good facility and services. Misdirected to cabin we would be staying in by two different employees. Young Starbucks employee a bit rude but overlook. Formal dining overpriced but Sourdough facility great.

Best hotel near Denali NP entrance

Posted Jul 7, 2014
A bit hard getting answers about hotel specifics through general 800 number, but all employees were very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and spacing was comfortable. We would have liked a refrigerator in the room. The shuttle between our lodge and main hotel was very good and ran often.
