“Avoid the tourists and enjoy the surroundings!”
Beautiful little cabins about 15 minutes south of Denali National Park Entrance. Cabins are in great location, can hear the creek flowing by and see the mountains. Cabins are also away from most of the tourists so you can enjoy the peace. Service is very friendly and the cabins are well maintained and clean. The cafe at the cabins is also great - excellent food and open early and closes late which fits in well with all day adventures in the Park. A hidden gem.
“Nicest Cabins”
The word "cabins" lbrings back memories of traveling wtih parents in the '50's. McKinley Creekside Cabins, by contrast, offers very fine accomodations. Nice neat, well furnished, quiet cabins along a rushing creek make for a delightful sleep. Small but sptlessly clean bath. Wondrerful peaceful setting in the woods with no TV.
“Amazing Restaurant”
The room was very nice, and the view was amazing but the best thing was the restaurant. The food was fabulous and fresh.
“Pleasantly Surprised”
My husband told me he had booked a cabin for our once in a lifetime trip to Denali and I was a bit hesitant. I was pleasantly surprised to open the door to a clean, updated and nicely decorated room. The bathroom was clean and had all the amenites I needed. I would also recommend the restaurant on the same premises--large portions of good food at a great price. Friendly service. The daily homemade pastries and desserts were out of this world. The cabins/restaurant are only a 15 minute ride to the park and away from all the commercial stuff up the road. It was wonderful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
“Good place to stay”
Nice hotel. It does not have a TV or Phone in the room. But probably you dont want those in a place like Denali where you wanted to give time a break.
“No handicap access”
Nice place, friendly staff but no handicap access.
“A nice hotel with resonalble price”
This is a good accomodation choice for whom want to enjoy the beauty of Denali National park while do not want to break the bank.
“Convenient but nothing more”
This was a convenient location that was reasonably priced. The "cabins" don't feel like cabins, more like cheap hotel rooms.
“Nice Location”
These cabins are next to a creek with a nice view. There are no televisions or telephones in the cabins.
“There are Pros and Cons”
The Pros: Beautiful setting, gorgeous outdoor location along a creek. They have a camp fire for everyone to enjoy. Their Cafe' is delicious and very gourmet but not pricey. Because there isn't much along this road you will probably eat at this cafe a lot! We had a travel mishap and the owners worked with us. Not too far from Denali Park entrance but you will need a car. Pizza place next door is yummy too. The Cons: It is a bit of a drive, about 15 minutes to the main town, the park entrance. The rooms were bad. The room we stayed in was like a duplex. It was very small and was built with ply wood, including the roof and the wall that seperated the two rooms, ply wood. You can hear EVERYTHING!! We heard some guy next door throwing up at 3:00 am, we could hear them use the restroom, they were loud in the morning and kept slamming the door which shook the whole building. It's a piece of ply wood seperating the two rooms, did I say that already? That is the only bad thing about this place, unfortunately its a big one.
