It was pretty run down even though the owner was very nice. The bathroom wasn't very clean either.

Impolite/disrespectful Customer Service

Posted Jul 22, 2014
I booked Jonathan Edwards Motel in March 2014 for a stay in July. I called a month before my reservation to add an additional night. I was planning on arriving at 9 am way before check in, I requested to book for the night before, so when I arrived I had a room to check into. The front desk was extremely accommodating and said not to worry about booking an extra night when I was only going to need it for a few hours. I was informed I would have a room ready for me when I arrived with no additional charge. However, that was not the case. When I checked in I explained my situation and telephone conversation I had with the front desk, the women remembered having the conversation with me, but impolitely/unmannerly told me she would not be able to accommodate my request because there was a full house. As this is going on the women is looking through her reservation book and realized the motel did not even have my reservation. When I questioned our phone conversation and ask why I was told such a thing when I originally wanted to book for an additional night the women became even more disrespectful and ended up slamming the door behind me as I left. Needless to say, I did not stay at the Jonathan Edwards Motel and I never plan to. The Travel Lodge down the street was more than gracious to accommodate

Nice staff.

The furnishings were a little tacky, and the lighting wasn't great, but it was clean, and the staff was friendly.

Staff

Posted Jul 18, 2014
The staff was great. I could tell they are trying to keep the place clean. No improvements overall just new paint covering holes and no new carpeting. Old furniture. Old building. Would not pay more that what I did for a place like this

Broken sink made experience unpleasant

Posted Jul 14, 2014
I stayed here out if necessity for a last minute booking. My room while over-priced, had a broken sink pipe which has was collecting waste in a bucket below it. No discount was offered for this mess. Thank god the bed was at least comfortable..

Nice "flop" motel

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Cons: There is not doubt, the place needs to be updated.
Location: Great location, close to everything!
Christina, the motel manager is AWESOME. You will find that the Jonathan Edwards motel is NOT a five star hotel .... but it is in a very good location, close to all beaches, close to many activities, close to great restaurants and ice cream joints ... it's just in a really good location. The room was no great shakes, but was comfortable and worked well for the price for a get-a-way to the Cape. There are not many upgrades, i.e. breakfast, coffee in rooms, flat screen TV's, etc. ... but hey, for the price, you can't go wrong. And, Christina keeps the pool open until 11:00!

Would rather stay at Bates Motel

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Disgusted would never go back!! Dirty and outdated! Stained sheets, given an attitude when asked for them to be changed and then informed that the stains were clean stains....then aggressively confronted by the manager when pulling into the parking lot....booked it for 2 nights but after the first paid additional money and stayed at a nicer place.
