Location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The bed and linens were top notch huge towels. And the view of the snow-capped Mountains beyond downtown Denver.
Cons: Free wifi in the rooms
Location: Close to the freeway, children's hospital and restaurants.
The hotel was great but the location is away from the city which this trip wasn't important but might be to someone else. Never understand why the more upscale a hotel is the less you get for free. If you stay at a lower end motel you get free wifi and breakfast but the more upscale they make you pay even though the rooms are more expensive.

Pros: Convenience to the expressway
Cons: IHG members should be able to avail themselves of the "perqs" membership provides regardless of the agency the reservation is purchased.
Location: Don't really know. I did not have the luxury of free time, so to speal
The room was comfortably furnished. Unfortunately, the room ( even with the lights on) was rather dark. Contributing to the sense overall darkness could have been the fact that floor lamp did not work.

Nice hotel

Posted Jul 7, 2014
I'm not to sure why some of these people gave bad rating, but my wife and I stayed here over the 4th of July 2014 and it was a very pleasant stay. Room was clean and very roomy, we got the larger room with king bed. Staff seemed very friendly upon arrival. I would definitely stay here again.

Another bad experience with Hilton

Posted Jul 1, 2014
I used to be a Diamond member. As my travel habits changed some, so have the hotels I frequent. The last 5 stays at various Hilton properties have been very disappointing. I have explored other brands to find they offer the clean and comfortable rooms, service and good breakfast I used to enjoy at Hilton. Maybe its time to take back the brand. My loyalty has found better service and comfort. I'm not sure what had happened to Hilton over the last 3 years but its not good.

The room itself was nice. The staff was unpleasant

Posted Jun 30, 2014
The man who checked me in was very rude and seemed very irritable. I requested a late checkout which he said was ok yet I was woken up by housekeeping at 11am. I requested until 2. When i called the front desk the lady who answered was rude and said I couldn't have a late checkout because there was a large group coming in. I would have been fine with that if I were told this upon checking in. The ladyeven went as fast as to tell me the amount of minutes I had left before "you need to get out". Overall a very bad experience. I've stayed here several other times and never had these issues hopefully they will train their staff on customer service in the future.

not up to Hilton standards

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: just about everything
Location: airport and the city of Denver
Stained carpeting, floor lamp that didn't work (even after alerting staff), paper coffee cups and dirty windows and no service in the bar

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments about your recent stay. Guest feedback is very important as we learn what we are doing well and what we need to do to improve. We have recently increased the frequency of our carpet maintenance schedule. And, I am sorry that we were not able to provide you a working lamp. I hope that if your travels bring you back to the city of Aurora, you would choose to stay with us again, I am confident you would have a better experience.

No air conditioning, bedside lamp missing a bulb!

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: comfy bed, great location
Cons: maintenance of your facilities. Hire folks who like people.
our air conditioning was not working and most concerning of all was that our bedside lamp was missing a bulb. Could have been disasterous and was dangerous. Staff was indifferent in general and not helpful.

Thank you for your review and comments. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. Our Housekeeping Manager has already spoken with her team and reminded them to check the lighting and air conditioning in our guest rooms. I also extend my apology for our lack of concern to your issues. I will be meeting with our team and reminding them of the basics of customer service. I hope that when your travels bring you back to this area, you would consider staying with us again. I am confident you will notice the positive changes we have made.

Loved everything about the Doubletree

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: We liked everything regarding the hotel/no complaints.
Location: The only downside is that there are no really good restaurants nearby.
My partner and I recently spent three days/nights at the Doubletree and we found everything to our satisfaction. The room was nicely appointed and everything worked perfectly. The king size bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had many nice choices/something for everyone.

Never again.

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: The welcoming cookies. Was a quiet hotel.
Cons: The manners of staff as well as making customers feel welcomed and comfortable.
Location: Location was very hard to find. Nothing of interest to my family or myself was nearby.
Booked online. Room was supposed to have king bed, fridge, tub for kids and micro. Instead, after driving 12 hours we were checked into a small two double bed, no tub only a small shower, no fridge (son's medication needed to be refrigerated and we had to get ice and it melted over night and ruined it) and no micro. On site, it says standard rooms came with micro and fridge. When inquiring about this we were treated rude and were moved the next day to king room still without fridge or micro. Kids and I went swimming and I went to spa and there was mold everywhere!! I had higher expectations for an expensive hotel like this. We would have had a better stay at a Best Western. Never again.

Thank you for your comments involving your stay. I am sorry and do apologize for the frustration and inconvenience we caused you and your family. We are in the process of purchasing more refrigerators so I am confident that the problem you experienced should not recur. And, while we regularly inspect our pool and hot tub and have not observed a mold problem, we will, based on your observation, investigate the situation. Again, thank you for your feedback and for your business.
